@vdeish1 That is very difficult to determine off the top of my head. My guess is a couple dollars. Since I'm not in the business of making them for other people, I've never had to cost it out.
@824twyles I get most of my supplies from local home improvement stores. Acrylic comes from concrete supplier. Fiber is ordered online. Send me a PM with an email address and I'll send lists of possible suppliers.
I use Butterfield brand acid stain because it is available locally. The three colors that I use are Taupe, Tannin and Cordovan Leather. Taupe gives shades of brown from light tan to dark, almost black, depending on the amount applied. Tannin has a yellow to orange caste. Cordovan leather gives shades of reddish-brown.
@MrDarby76 Send me a PM with your email address and I'll send you a list of sources. Fiber does not have to be polypropylene. It can be alkaline-resistant glass fiber. Check concrete suppliers and countertop manufacturers as well.
@shawniern First layer: 3 parts stryofoam beads, 1 part mortar cement, handful of fiber. Liquid is 3 parts water to 1 part acrylic admix. Second layer: 3 parts sand, 1 part mortar cement, handful of fiber. Liquid is 3 parts water to 1 part acrylic admix. Acrylic admix is also called fortifier, polymer, or latex.
Don is so great. He has inspired me to do a bird bath / fountain / pondless waterfall . Don is a very kind and patient teacher. I had lots of questions too and he made me feel like he was happy to answer them and help me along.
why did you have to do another layer after the first casting? why does it have to be sealed? where do you get syrofoam beads? am i asking to many questions?lol
The first layer contains styrofoam beads as the aggregate -- not a suitable surface for finishing. The second layer is a sand/cement layer -- finishes well to simulate rock. The styrofoam beads are insulation for cement block; mine came from Menard's. No, you're not asking too many questions; glad to help. You might like to watch the series on my channel entitled, "Making Faux Rock for Your Pond". The first part discusses where to get materials.
What is the cost to make the rock shown in the video?

Where do you get your supplies? Would it be possible to make a waterfall on the edge of a pool?

Does anybody know where you can get this polypropylene fiber? I have searched around the web and anybody who sells it only sells it by the ton!

Have you made any videos on making the actual pond liner. Your rock making video was excellent!

The pond liner is made the same way as the rocks -- out of concrete.
