Yes without the fire rod beat the 4th dark world dungeon or at least get the level 3 Sword then fight Mothra afterwards.

The level 3 sword I  believe takes less hits to kill Mothra then it takes to beat it using the fire rod.

Seriously...getting past the wallmasters was worse than this boss fight. Like, infinitely worse. I killed this boss with no fairies and no extra magic. Because I used all of that up on the monsters I had to pass several times...thanks to the wallmasters :P

This boss for me took 2 fairies a bottle of magic/life potion for the Cane of Bryna (hehe shield) and still I was on my last quarter of a heart when he died... Talk about counting it close. I hate bosses like these that require quick reflexes. It's hard to be quick when your playing the game on a iPod touch!!!

Hey could you help me out here? I used a key to open that door you left closed at 4:43 and now I can't open the door at the aisle where you fire the bones. . . where do I get another one??

Yikes, I don't think I could answer that question without researching the dungeon and where every key is and which have been used so far. I may go through it in another video I have, I have no idea.

@hunter15234 When ZOLINK walks into "Level 3 Skull Woods" at 5:03 the key is in the treasure chest to his right. To get to it you have to go down the stairs, maneuver a little under the main walkway to a door at the end of the room on the right, then go down when you get to the next room go down to the door in the bottom left and then grab the key in the treasure chest.

@skateordieeeeee Then at 4:52 take the passage to the right instead, follow it until you reach a dead end with a hole. Fall through the hole, hit the star switches in that room, the puzzle solved music will play, then walk into the room into your left and there it is.

@hunter15234 Its a year late. but w/e. If you go back to the woods outside all the dungeon entrances, you'll find a black pit you call fall down - this lands at the top end of the room to the right of the room at 4.44, here you can touch one of those star panels on the floor to move all the dark holes in the floor around - you can then go left and walk to the door and enter with a key!

Not much of worth in there though, 3 enemies (those masked things like the magic hammer dungeon boss) +pots

@I3lakBlade i did that, but since a used a key to open that useless room, im stuck on the next part of the dungeon, after i used a fire rod to burn my way into the next part of the dungeon. jesus, i have no idea where another key would be

Any weapon really works perfectly fine, I only used the Fire Rod because it makes the battle really simple.

There's a lot of extra keys in this dungeon so it doesn't really matter. First, I'd of course advise you to re watch the video to see if you missed any, buy: Right when you get inside there, take the stairs down and follow around and eventually you'll get to a box that you can clearly see at 5:28. That holds a key. If you can't get to that one, at 3:30 there's another door to the right side, enter that one, and there's another key inside of that room. You can use both to get further.

i actually figured it out so... but no walkthroughs explained that i could find. basically there is a hidden drop point into the dungeon, there u hit a star, and then use the spare key. check the map for black areas.

I really enjoyed this vid. I've just done this on the SNES so I hope you don't mind a tip. When you entre the big boss, just put on the cape to make you invisible and then keep hitting the big boss until he is defeated. You will take no damage but you need to keep moving because the floor shifts you around. Hope this is of interest.

I knew about the Magic Cape, but I was thinking more of using it for the Fire Rod to defeat quicker instead of using the Magic Cape. I guess that would be a better way anyway. Aw well.
