The scene that sticks out in my mind is the ending where he collapses out of the telepod and drags himself towards his girlfriend and as his dragging along you can see how much damage the fusion of man, fly and machine has done to him. I really felt sorry for the guy and I think "He used to be human".

Ya know, a guy brilliant enough to create a teleportation machine would probably have some sort of emergency cutoff switch, or program, that would tell the computer not to teleport if 2 life forms were detected in the pods. However, it still makes for one hell of a movie.

1987, the first discovery of teleportation.

A living animal called a Baboon has been placed into the telepod, but rips inside-out at the other end.

Then steak is placed in the machine. As steak is animal, it is safe to test without death. At first the steak taste synthetic, so Seth teaches the telepod to transport it properly.

Drunk, Seth gets in the machine, hoping to be succesfully teleported, but a fly gets in. He and the future is ruined. Small mistakes cost lives...

This is one of my top favorate movies too! Actually in the top ten. This movie is so brilliantly written and can never be put into one category. Not to sound argumentitive with you calling it a horror film. It certainly is, but has so many other elements as well. It's very much a romantic movie in the beginning, with undertones of humor. Then, turns to suspence later when you don't know what's gonna happen to him, not to mention it's a sci-fi. And later it turns into a drama with a sad ending.
