@littleninjai Take a close up look at the likes of Hornby's new class 08, 09, 31, 56, 60, 43 etc. Also check out the likes of their pullman coaches & pullman observation coach.That's before we even get on to the likes of some very stunning steam models they do!! Look cheap & plastic..... NAH!!! Far from it.
nice layout it looks very impressive im 15 and am really struggling to work my way into the hobby properly its in the same stage as yours and has been for about 2 years
@TRAINHEAD247 This layout never got finished, due to me not being happy with the track plan. Ended up taking down & starting again. Stick with it, i'm sure you'll end up moving your layout on to the stage. With so many great layouts on YT, there's plenty of inspiration to spur your layout on. In my case it's finding time to work on it. Cheers.
No worries mate.The loco engine sound comes from with in the loco (where fitted with a sound decoder).The ones you see running here don't have a sound decoder(chip) fitted.They only have a normal decoder (chip) fitted. Would like to fit a sound decoder in some more if time & money will allow.Cheers.
Hi Swatunit21,I will be doing on my next layout, but this is just my test track layout & I'll be building a new layout soon.Have a look in the model railway mags for DCC suppliers.I got mine for just over £100 & they upgraded the firmware before sending it out to my too. It's a great controller.Cheers
Yes DCC is great, you can do so much more with it.Just have to be extra careful when running more than one on the same line.Don't want any crashes.LOL
Thank you.I like the fact that you can now watch videos in the same pic quality nearly as the original.More video's to come, & a new layout will be started this year as well.Regards.
@ashnobby Not unless you want to be able to turn them on or off. Other wise they work just fine on DCC with out a decoder.

Most should be able to be fitted.Go for DCC ready ones (at 1st) as they'll be easier to convert.Cheers.

Does the DCC sound chip produce the sound from within the loco, or is the sound coming from the controller? Sorry.

On my old train sets, all we had was analog controllers, which sucked because all the trains went the same way ;_;
ForeverSilver 3 years ago
The out side line on this layout is still under analogue control,It's the inside line that's under DCC as you can see.Thank you for watching.Cheers.
ay76 3 years ago
Nice. One suggestion. Turn off the auto-exposure so that the brightness doesn't change when a (dark) train goes by.
