  • Too bad this phone didn't catch on past geeks.

  • @AppLeo1990

    Your mother

  • Better thing, is that you set my comment as "negative" comment, lol!

Anyway, i didn't offend you, i just sad my opinion about this phone, nothing else...

  • very slow response...am bit disappointed

  • dude, he's live recording the cell screen output using the phone proccessor, so things are gonna get slow

  • bullshit, is it just slow

  • Nah come on. Check other videos to see.

Search 'openmoko freerunner running android' for instance.

  • Great video!

  • Love the demo. Two questions.

1: do you really have to shake so hard?

2: how are you making the live recording? :)

  • Great demo on Openmoko Gestures.

    Thanks.

  • Nice demonstration!

  • Hey they innovation is cool. But from what i saw, things are a bit too laggy. Will it become snappier eventually, on this same hardware? I'm curious.

  • really nice

  • Right :)

  • Left, as the axes are inverted in that position for the accelerometer

  • If you turn 180 degrees the phone and move it to the left, it detects left or right?

  • now if they made it figure out which way it's turned, it shouldn't be so hard to figure out which way the gesture is made, would it?

  • The video works just fine...

  • May we know why is the not available the video?

  • Thanks, I'm a hero :D

  • Soon Apple will steal this features and the iphone snobs will think they are very intelligent because their money spend.

Open source developers are like forgotten heroes.

  • thats the problem of open source,

  • piqoni: I'll cite from some other page (XDA)...

In other words, with Linux running on your mobile device, you have options outside of the box that don't fit the mass market, and that avoid the wars and battles going on between manufacturers and GSM providers as they limit your choices in order to get as much money out of you as they can. (Did you honestly think VoIP hadn't been added years ago to mobile phones for purely technical reasons?)

  • Alpha 2 Release of Accelerometer-based Gestures, and Screen Orientation is now available. Read Gestures Wiki over Openmoko Web Site on how to download, and install the package

  • Totally awesome!

  • Wow. Can I program the forward/backward gesture to call my mistress?

    Jokes apart that's terrific!

  • Daniel told me that he will add the bitbake recipe to OpenEmbedded, so as soon as he does that, I guess it will be also available in the repos.

  • any idea when it will be in the repositories?

  • cool.. this motion gestures could help development of games.. just think what wii can do.. :)

  • I can imagine some embarrassing looks on the bus when one does the backwards forwards motion.

  • Hey ist very cool, does it run on Openmoko GTK ?

I use the alpa on gtk and i change the echo.ges to start applications or sounds, you can see my videos but it's not like your work. Your Code is my Sommer of Code. Do you have fun with your Freerunner ? We love you ;-)

  • I will release this package on Thursday. What you currently find on my web site is an alpha release, from one month ago, which does not include those features. Wait till Thursday!

  • My bad, the details are located on the site that shows at the end of the video.

  • How do I install/configure this on my freerunner?

  • Excelent...

  • Awsome

  • lol. Think about it on the street, when you're looking like an idiot making those getures ^^
