Going on three years now, and I still haven't seen a routine as genius as this one. At Bapst cheering practices, we all talk about this routine all the time and we still haven't figured out how this didn't win! Great job, girls! :)

Everyone performed to their best at states. Mistakes happen. In the past cheering season I may have left some demeaning comments on other videos, but now I realize that's it's no use to argue over other teams past or potential. I just enjoy watching what my state's teams can do. It really is hilarious that six months later people are still uselessly bickering about deductions, placement and other peoples' skills and routines. Just wait until the 09 season.. this crap will only escalate.

Let me tell you all girls and boys, the competition this year was incredible. I've been attending state competitions since 1991 and I was amazed at how far cheering has come. Yes, I agree marshwood's routine was the best and I do think they should have come in 1st in the state--But better than a few judges placing them 2nd, the WHOLE crowd gave them a STANDING OVATION--Nobody can ever take that away from them...The fans are the tru judges, Gouldie, an Alumni Mom

so biddeford invented the "v" formation in cheering? and it is a completely different opening because seven standing tucks is much more difficult than a bunch of toe touches..you're supposed to be rewarded for difficulty..

your preformance gave me the chills what the hell? The last thing that gave me the chills was watching land before time 28: Hell freezes over thats some scary shit straight up, but i dont' recall cheering ever giving me the chills.

I'm not from maine, but i came across the video and thought it was one of the best cheering teams maine has had. it really shows that maine is catching up..awesome tumbling and stunting i dont want the "idiot on the roof" is talking about but u girls are awesome!!

Marshwood girls, i've always admired your class! congrats on a wonderful season and entertaining routine! As a competator, i must say i've never actually been able to enjoy it simply because i always knew you girls were a huge threat. but watching it now, wow!!! you girls are awesome

Stop saying marshwood is so much classier than biddeford. one of the first comments i saw on these videos was im going to make tiger stew. seriously? every single girl is not classy who is writing comments like that. its not just biddeford!
It must suck to be from Biddeford and know that the entire state of Maine knows that Marshwood should have been the State champs. Kind of takes away from the win doesn't it? Oh well too bad I guess that's what happens when it rigged, and everyone knows it.
A few of the cheerleaders came as fans (we were cheering) and it was one of the most disgraceful, upsetting thing I've ever been a part of. Your precious blondie there (the one that FALLS) was openly making fun of everything we did throughout the entire game. It was RIDICULOUS. Coming from the other team from the West that's always right up there, I never in my life could picture a Marshwood girl pulling something like that.
4. A neutral, third party who was there for class D said that when every other team came for callbacks, she was excited to see them preform again because their routine was fun, and easy to get into, but that Biddeford's wasn't on the same level. The skills were there but the routine itself was not.
5. Last, but certainly not least people have made this personal and so will I. Biddeford and Scarborough played each other in boys basketball on Tuesday night, at Scarborough. (cont)
People are going to argue whatever is said on here but these are FACTS:
1. Stop making comparisons about one of the judges being a former Scarborough coach because all she did was a dance for us last year AND she judges D not A.
2. Marshwood clearly should have won states. On every level.
3. Want to go into detail about jumps? PRetty sure Kayla won top gun jumps this year and last year at camp. Sam Sargent is mostly likely the best high school flayer in Maine right now too.

i dont live in Maine but watching this team out of all of them seems to be one of the best teams ive watched all though i dont know if its them yelling to the music at some points that I dont like at all but other than that seem to be really good and i dont see why they didnt win

I wasnt at States and watching both teams videos on youtube, I honestly enjoyed Marshwood's routine a lot more. It was more exciting and cleaner...personally I think thats why they need to get some out of state judges in here for States
stop saying we know the judges because we know one that WASN'T judging. and second if it was biddeford that knew the judge agin that WASN'T judging its a good chance that another team would know one of the judges like im sure they did but its not an issue because they didnt win. we always knew that same judge for years now we never won when we shouldn't before.

How did every other team go up by an average of 10 points from previous competitions, yet OHills score was only .5 better than there Regionals runnersup score, when they dropped a stunt at Regionals!? Theres no way Biddeford, EL, and definitely not Scarborough should have made it before them. P.S. I have nothing against any of these cheerleaders, I just think Oxford Hills was much more deserving. They were Eastern Class A KVAC champs. Oh & Marshwood Rocks! True Winners!
First of all, obviously Marshwood was the better team. Get over it. The real people who got robbed were Oxford Hills. They hit a perfect routine the best theyve ever performed & didnt even get called back. They were behind Biddeford who dropped a stunt & EL who had a touch down in a tuck & Scarborough who has the sloppiest/most basic routine out there.
On Feb. 9, one team proved not once but twice that they were just that. Be humble Biddeford and have a little compassion for how Marshwood feels. You felt the same way last year when you lost by .3 ! It is not necessary to tell them to stop whining and get over it. Their blood, sweat and tears are no different or better than yours. Give credit where credit is due, accept your win graciously so you can enjoy your victory without scrutiny

Actually, the truth is the judges got it wrong - period. For anyone who truly knows cheerleading, a team that misses a stunt in the first round is not deserving of getting in to round 2 unless all of the teams had fallen and that simply did not happen - sorry! What do you say to teams like Oxford Hills who had no issues and EL who had minor ones just like Biddeford? Biddeford was that much better? No way!
Congrats to Biddo for feeling good about yourselves, but honestly you should keep quiet because unfortunately your championship is tainted due to the subjective opinions of 5 women. You only open yourself up to greater critcism for the things you are saying. Oh, by the way Marshwood won its last cheering state title in 2001 making that 5 overall, they have 8 regional titles and they won 13 conference titles. Don't try to belittle their success, it makes you look shallow.
im just saying that biddeford has won more then marshwood and we were class a up againt the biggest schools in maine and we still have won more, thats just for that person that said not to talk because they have a lot of cheering awards.

Marshwood girls, i've always admired your class! congrats on a wonderful season and entertaining routine! As a competator, i must say i've never actually been able to enjoy it simply because i always knew you girls were a huge threat. but watching it now, wow!!! you girls are awesome

A few of the cheerleaders came as fans (we were cheering) and it was one of the most disgraceful, upsetting thing I've ever been a part of. Your precious blondie there (the one that FALLS) was openly making fun of everything we did throughout the entire game. It was RIDICULOUS. Coming from the other team from the West that's always right up there, I never in my life could picture a Marshwood girl pulling something like that.

4. A neutral, third party who was there for class D said that when every other team came for callbacks, she was excited to see them preform again because their routine was fun, and easy to get into, but that Biddeford's wasn't on the same level. The skills were there but the routine itself was not.

People are going to argue whatever is said on here but these are FACTS:
1. Stop making comparisons about one of the judges being a former Scarborough coach because all she did was a dance for us last year AND she judges D not A.
2. Marshwood clearly should have won states. On every level.
3. Want to go into detail about jumps? PRetty sure Kayla won top gun jumps this year and last year at camp. Sam Sargent is mostly likely the best high school flayer in Maine right now too.

I wasnt at States and watching both teams videos on youtube, I honestly enjoyed Marshwood's routine a lot more. It was more exciting and cleaner...personally I think thats why they need to get some out of state judges in here for States

stop saying we know the judges because we know one that WASN'T judging. and second if it was biddeford that knew the judge agin that WASN'T judging its a good chance that another team would know one of the judges like im sure they did but its not an issue because they didnt win. we always knew that same judge for years now we never won when we shouldn't before.

actually my point was is if marshwood lost to lewiston the crowd couldve understoof cus there routine was way harder...ur routine sucked along with ur music n shouldnt have evn made it to callbacks never mind win a statechampionship.... i dont think they had problems clearin out the civic center between competitions because the crowd already cleared out when u were announced as winners

Marshwood girls:
Don't let anyone's negative comments put you down.
We know what we achieved this season.
We also know that our performance last Saturday at States was the best we've ever performed.
We hit that routine flawlessly not once, but twice.
We all know in our hearts who the real State Champions are this year and we don't need a plaque to prove it.
This has by far been the best season of my high school cheerleading career.
I love you all and I'm so proud of everyone!

How did every other team go up by an average of 10 points from previous competitions, yet OHills score was only .5 better than there Regionals runnersup score, when they dropped a stunt at Regionals!? Theres no way Biddeford, EL, and definitely not Scarborough should have made it before them. P.S. I have nothing against any of these cheerleaders, I just think Oxford Hills was much more deserving. They were Eastern Class A KVAC champs. Oh & Marshwood Rocks! True Winners!

First of all, obviously Marshwood was the better team. Get over it. The real people who got robbed were Oxford Hills. They hit a perfect routine the best theyve ever performed & didnt even get called back. They were behind Biddeford who dropped a stunt & EL who had a touch down in a tuck & Scarborough who has the sloppiest/most basic routine out there.

On Feb. 9, one team proved not once but twice that they were just that. Be humble Biddeford and have a little compassion for how Marshwood feels. You felt the same way last year when you lost by .3 ! It is not necessary to tell them to stop whining and get over it. Their blood, sweat and tears are no different or better than yours. Give credit where credit is due, accept your win graciously so you can enjoy your victory without scrutiny

Actually, the truth is the judges got it wrong - period. For anyone who truly knows cheerleading, a team that misses a stunt in the first round is not deserving of getting in to round 2 unless all of the teams had fallen and that simply did not happen - sorry! What do you say to teams like Oxford Hills who had no issues and EL who had minor ones just like Biddeford? Biddeford was that much better? No way!

Congrats to Biddo for feeling good about yourselves, but honestly you should keep quiet because unfortunately your championship is tainted due to the subjective opinions of 5 women. You only open yourself up to greater critcism for the things you are saying. Oh, by the way Marshwood won its last cheering state title in 2001 making that 5 overall, they have 8 regional titles and they won 13 conference titles. Don't try to belittle their success, it makes you look shallow.
