  • According statistic, Kasparov is the best. Unless Fischer (or other players) can be a world champion, defended it, and world No.1 for 20 years, Fischer (or other players) as the greatest player is only in their fanboy's dreams and fantasies. 1. Kasparov (Legendary work ethic) 2. Carlsen (pure talent, all around player, great positional and tactician player) 3. Kramnik (Strongest positional player ever!) 4. Alekhine 5. Fischer 6. Who cares? 7. Loser 8. Loser 9. Me!! 10. Loser
  • question to author: are u american?

  • @bach5861 I'm not American

  • What's Petrosian doing there? To put Karpov just on number 6 it's a big mistake.

  • @dalsenov Petrosian is the master of defense the statistics show that this is one of the best

  • I see the cult of Fischer lives on! I wouldn't necessarily argue with the list - only the order. Fischer never tested himself against a younger generation, unlike all the rest, and Alekhine was manifestly a lesser player than Lasker and Capablanca. Fischer should be below Kasparov and Capablanca and maybe Lasker.

  • Pretty good list... but without Tal it's imperfect!

  • perfect....but only one missing...TAL

  • You may react to my list... But this list is for my opinion.. honorable mention-Anand,Kramnik, Topalov, Korchnoi, Geller, Carlsen(may become all time great also)....

  • 1.Fischer(the will to win) 2.Kasparov ( Dynamic positional) 3. Capablanca (undefeated for so long time) 4. Morphy (Genius, Gifted) 5. Alekhine (innovation) 6. Tal (fierce attacker player) 7. Karpov (Positional Master) 8. Keres (unheralded great chess player) 9. Lasker (psychological advantage) 10. Petrosian (most defensive player of all time)

  • I would add Tal to the list.

  • BoBy Ficher R.I.P :(

  • lol morphy 10.

  • fuuf stuppid kasparov is range number 1 and carpov range number 2

  • manca nella classifica uno dei tre piu' forti al mondo

    TAL

    Ripensaci ,anche molto!!!!!

  • Larsen belongs to the best chess players in the world too.

  • Maybe Fischer is the best ever. He taught himself to be world Champion Kasporov and Karpov had the Soviet Chess School helping them.

  • Kasparov defended his title 15yrs. He crushed all before him. Only later in his career did his game decline. Maybe he should have retired earlier. Lasker would have been a great chess play if he wasn't drunk all the time. Ouch! the truth hurts. Alekhine ran in fear of Capablanca after winning the title. World champions need to be rated when they actively competed. All world champions should never be thrown into a bucket and judged as who is the best of all time. 'Nuff Said!

  • @Iamzombiehunter alekhine>capablanca

  • you is crazy number one is kasparov 2 karpov 3 fisher

  • @baalzebud1975 my list is done on the statistics fischer had to face all the Russian school of chess

  • @baalzebud1975 your a retard bobby fishcer is much better than kasparov or karpov ya retard

  • 1.Mikhail Tal

    2.Paul Morphy

    3.Bobby Fischer

    4.Capablanca

These are my favorites... There is no point in claiming the best..

  • @djuri1985 alekhine, dude??

  • @AlexandrinoAlekhine

I said favorite not best :)

Btw, there were a lot of immensely talented chess players who didn't have the nerve, consistency and motivation to stay on top, or maybe they just got married and their wives forced them to stop? :P Anyway Tal was a great dude! Beside of being a super-uber cosmic chess player he had loads of fun while playing as well. He had balls and character. He wasn't "addicted"..

  • Also, I think Fischer's fame isn't proportional to his ability. The circumstance he played in contributed a lot to his popularity (being American in the time of the cold war...). He was one of those people who had difficulties coping with the real world so he found sanctuary in chess. I don't doubt he was ONE of the greatest, coz he really was a chess force, but ONE, not THE greatest. I don't think it is fair to say Fischer was greater than Spassky or Tal or Kasparov, just makes no sense...

  • I hit like because I totally agree with putting Bobby at #1.

  • chess is not place to you show you patriotism stupid

  • @TheLasseCarlsen my list is done on statistics if you look at the data well also get the same conclusion is also my personal taste I am not American fischer started in the first place is the best no doubt

  • @TheLasseCarlsen I doubt he would of put Morphy at 10th if this was all about patriotism. Even Fischer himself said Morphy would be the champ 'today' after he caught up on modern theory. He made a good point. Morphy was an unusual sort of chess genius who was also not monomaniacal about the game as Fischer was. Morphy built a foundation which all masters after him learned from and advanced to this day.

  • Bobby Fischer number 1, jajaja it's a joke? American idiot, yankee of shit
