if the indian singers were better than pakistanis, then why would they take nusrat fateh ali khan, rahat fateh ali khan, shafqat amanat, atif aslam, ghulam ali, and many others to sing songs for their movies...?? india has no doubt good ghazal singers, like jagjit and pankaj, but kings of ghazal are mehdi hasan, ustad bary ghulam ali, ustad amanat ali khan, nusrat fateh ali khan, tina sani, fareeda bano,ghulam ali,hamid ali khan...all are pakistanis..

I disagree, even though I am from Deccan india I still think the ghazals in pakistan leave india years behind. The authenticity of the urdu language validates itself in the pakistani culture. The adab and tehzeeb of urdu ghazal singing in pakistan is by far the best in the world.

I think we need to move ahead of this perception as the talent are god given . It is say that you can be Einstein By effort, but cant be a poet even. So god has given this natural beauties to the world for Connoisseur. And sure had has not created all political boundaries. I am Indian. Jagjit sing is not by india( indian govt). No doubt he is awesome. I like rather many Pakistani Ghazal maestro for there composition where we find the right Urdu words that give the authentic flavor.
