After the Burial - ASPIRATION (full cover)

Ok guys. For the tuning. After the Burial plays 8 string guitars. So that means their guitars have a low B string, and then a lower F# string. (If it's in standard tuning.) No matter what song you are trying to play, or what guitar you have, (6 or 7 string) tune it to the lowest note an 8 string guitar would have..(F# standard)... that way you have their range. Then tune to the song from there.

I'm not completely sure on this, but I know they don't play in Drop G#. They play in F, which is just standard on an 8 string tuned down a half-step. For all of you who say you can't tune that low on a 6 string with a floyd: listen to the people who say you can, because it's quite possible. My guitar is tuned to Drop G# right now.........

let's not mention Munky here, he's not known as a well rounded musician, he's known as a guitarist in korn who's more concerned about booze than gear. There are bands that play in A or lower on a regular 6 strings. It sounds funny when some say "you need a 7 to go that low". 25.5" 7 string is no different from 6 besides extended range. it's all about gauges and setup. longer scale can help w/ string tension, so you can use lighter strings for lower tunings but it's not a must
