  • Will be watching, what Amp are you using? Is that a Gibson?

  • @quiglearo No, that's a Crate 3112 V series all tube amp. 4 12AX7 preamp tubes and 4 EL84 tubes. It's 30 watt A class, puts out close to 100 watt power at the speaker which is a Tone Tubby 12 in. I like it better than any amp I've ever had, and believe me, I've had plenty. Thanks

  • How about some more pickin? You are one of the best I ever heard.

  • @quiglearo Well, my grandson does my videos and he is currently unavailable. When he gets back in town I hope to video a few more. Thanks and keep watching, Billy

  • I really like this, very good.

  • @Axeminister5 Thank you, I really appreciate it. Have a Merry Christmas.

  • Real pro job. Love the amp settings...beautiful. Is this your own fills or the actual tabs.

  • @ChubbaBoastinTone766 My own fills for the most part. Of course I wouldn't be playing it at all if Chet hadn't played it first. My Guitar Hero before there ever was a game. Thanks

  • I do not know whether your receiving my e-mails or not, however, if you have decided not to sell me the tab of snowbird, I would appreciate just a note rather than nothing at all.

    yudin300@comcast.net

  • Billy,

I would like to purchase the tab for snowbird, Can you help me. Happy to pay for it.

    Much thanks,

    Cal

  • @calyudin I have a hardcopy tab of the way Chet played it. I play it a little different and I don't have a tab for the way I play it.. Send me a private email and I'll see if we can work something out. bgdenham@yahoo.com

  • great playing, loved it!

  • awesome picking for sure : )

    Rocket

  • @Ottawarocket I appreciate it, thanks for checking me out.

  • Hey Man,

What tuning are you using on this if I may ask

    sunaj

  • @sunaJH Just standard tuning EBGDAE. I dislike alternate tunings.

  • Fantastic!

  • Wow.. Your'e a great picker...I'm impressed :) (R)

  • @RudolphSteweart Thanks, I'm glad you like it. It's one of my most requested tunes. I don't know about being a great picker, just a picker of great tunes.

  • @bgdenham Modest you are ... Many envy the perfect timing, your sound .. including me:) .. Hehe .. Once again Awesome Have a nice weekend .. (R)

  • bravo bravo bravo bravoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

    sunaj

  • Awsome! Great! Keep em coming!

  • Thanks, I hope to get some new ones posted in the next few weeks.

  • Very good. I enjoyed it. Have a good day.

  • Thank you and I wish you the same.

  • This is one of my favorite Chet songs. You do it well. Thanks for sharing.

  • And THANK YOU for listening (and watching). BGD

  • Brilliant!

  • I'm glad you liked it, thanks.

  • You are AMAZING on that thing. I was thrilled to hear Chet on a program with Mother Maybelle and the Carter Sisters back in the late 50s when I was just a kid. It was a small rural community with an audience of probably around 500 (high school gym). I sat on the front row, a few feet from Chet. I was amazed at his playing, and I am just as impressed with YOURS! You have a God-given talent buddy! FIVE STARS Mike

  • Thank you. I started playing when I was about 12. My mother took me to meet Chet in 1959 when I was 15. He ask me to play him a song. Shoot! I was shaking so bad I couldn't even spell my name. I did get to play a tune for him in 1998 at the CAAS convention. I was a lot older and my nerves had settled alot. Thanks again.

  • What an unforgettable and amazing experience for you! Thanks for tell me man, and I look forward to listening to more or your OUTSTANDING pickin! Mike

  • Well said, sir. Thank you for your kindness. I'll pray to Him to keep filling those blessings for you and yours, brother.

GO GO GO and GO some more bgdenham...!

P.S. Got any CDs? Where do we go? We'll go.

  • Terriffic technique, pal. Beautifully done. Chet is duly pleased, I'm sure. btw, whaddaya playin' there, a Country Gentleman? Tennessean? Ya got me. Wonderfully done. God bless you and yours.

  • Thank you. It's a Yamaha AES1500B. But, it does have Gibson CG pickups and pots. You have a good ear. It plays as good as it looks (and sounds). Thank you for the blessing, I feel like He has.

  • sir....you are amazing.

  • And you sir, are very kind, thank you.

    Billy

  • I'm still in awe! Way too many Chet clones playing this, yet NONE are playing the way Chet would have done it! Chet was full of fills. I close my eyes....and this is Chet playing. Great job my man!

  • I don't play it note for note like Chet, but then I really don't try to. I learn the basic tune and licks from Chet's recording, then add my own touch. Kinda makes it personal you know. Thanks, BGD

  • Hey buddy, playing Chet stuff just like he did can only be done by a handful of people and you did it. Be proud!

  • Thank you, I am proud and thankful that one day as a 12 year old I heard Chet Atkins play on the radio and I wanted to play just like him. Over 50 years later and I'm still trying to play like him.

  • I enjoy all ur posted video's here, keep up the "good pickin' & works...

  • Thanks for giving a look & listen. Billy

  • So kool you must have a band/gig you play out with? Just a pasttime or full time? I probly never play as good as this but I love to jam along; thanks so much for giving us your time and music here.

  • great. can i sing it while you play?

    :-)

  • Help yourself, I sing along with it myself sometime. Thanks

  • You are very good! I enjoy that very much. Take care.- Cheers from Denmark

  • you are GREAT, i wish i can play like you.

  • I am very humbled. I wish you could too.

  • Hey there again bgdenham! Just stopping by to listen to this fantatic song...again and again. I dropped you a note a few months back. Is your amp a Crate? I played one the other day and am weighing it against a Fender Super Sonic or Blues Deluxe. Your thoughts? Oh btw...were can I find your CD's? Play on Brother!!!

  • wow fabulous! it's like a Chet Atkins version! 5 stars!

  • You're very kind. It's one of my most requested tunes. Not pushing, but I have CD's if you are interested. Many thanks, BGD

  • hey billy, even i just lost my mother in this world, and i know that she`s at god`s speed now. i would like to learn more about your cd`s. it`s hard that my momma is not here now, but i will always carry her dream in my heart forever.

  • Well, I hope you have a good thought about me playing Snowbird. Thanks, BGD

  • i see myself walking down the streets in atlantic city humming this song. even when i`m on the slot machines. i think of this song alot..

  • will be looking for more of your work. mother says she loves to hear that her son is back into music. she will forever be grateful that someone can play anne murry`s snowbird that good. thank you

  • Many thanks and give my best to your Mom, anybody who likes Snowbird is alright in my book. BGD

  • nice job, keep the hope and the peice alive and forever. you can pick like buck owens. lo0ve it.

  • i love this song, and you play i just like chet atkins!!!

  • Thank you for such kind comments. About 6 months ago I changed the arrangement a little, I need to repost it. Are you a subscriber?

  • no, but i will be in just a few clicks! I am an avid fan of playing, but ironicly i am not very good even after 6 years collectivly, i cant even read sheet music or remember chords. i cant even ply a song all the way through... so i have pretty much trahed the idea until now- think i m gonna give it 1 more shot...

  • I love your picking . Can you play," Flying On Your Oun " by Rita McNeil ?

  • Sorry, I don't know the tune.

  • Hi,you play guitar almost like Chet,i try play this tune (Snowbird)but i need guitar tablature and if you have somewhere you can send to me,thanks.

  • I must tell you...I just love this! I've been a player for 40 years..mainly blues (Hendrix/Stevie Ray Vaughan). I've been going back to my youth and listening to Mark Knopfler as of late, which brought me to Mr. Atkins. I always knew he was great but have certainly under estimated his talents. Which brings me to you...you sir have SERIOUS talent!!!

  • We are alot alike. I started playing guitar when I was 12 and bought my first Chet Atkins record when I was 14. I learned a lot of Chet's music in those early days, then I started playing commercial guitar and left Chet's music till 1990 when I had a mild heart attack. I retired and started playing the tunes I learned as a teenager. I did it to relax and now I play at a local restaurant and make a liitle money on the side. Thanks for your kind comments.

  • Fantastic! I'm working on this and you have it nailed! Beautiful playing,

    Darryl Chafe

  • I thank you and wish you all the best in playing this great tune. Get it on.

  • NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL PICKING.

  • Such kind words make me keep pickin that guitar. Thanks, Billy

  • Nice!

  • How many hours a day did you pratice to get to your level and was Chet Atkins your mentor? I truly appreciate your smoothness & ability. It took me years playing 6 hours a day & I'm curious as to your trip to be a CGP!

  • Well, I started playing when I was 12 years old and I'm 64 now. Chet was indeed my hero and I tried to learn everything he put out. In the beginning I played about 6 hours a day. I left fingerstyle for about 25 years while I pursued a career. I restarted my fingerstyle picking about 10 years ago and play, on the average, about 2 hours a day. Thanks for looking and your kind comments.

  • You are an excellent guitarist !

  • Many thanks.

  • nice you've got other stuff I'm defiantly gonna give it a listen

  • hey that was great your guitar is sick the pink is a little queer but its an awesome guitar i like your technique, allot of people don't finger pick much anymore

  • The guitar is actually a beautiful orange Tigerwood maple, the third generation video makes it look pink. Glad you enjoyed the playing though. BGD

  • How does it feel to be able to play the guitar like that? :-)

  • I feel extremely blessed and fortunate to be able to play at the level I do. And it's kind words like yours that make me feel very proud to be a guitar player.

  • 63 only ? Remember Billy, life starts at 80 and I said the same to Chet.

    Terje

  • Well, Terje, as my Dad use to say, "It's not the age, but the milage that wears you out".

  • Finally Billy. Love that one.

    Terje

  • beautiful! really stunning, thanks for posting

  • Another wonderful posting , thank you so much.

  • Great playing Billy- Give us more-thanks

  • Very great sir, I appreciate you posting that for us. How long have you been playing and how did you learn fingerstyle?

  • I began playing at the age of 12, I am 63 now, so I've had a few years to develope my style. I was privileged to see a man in our community who played thumb and fingerstyle, I learned 99% of what I know from listening to recordings. Thanks for looking.

  • Billy Love every song you play. May I ask what kind of drum machine do you use. Fantastic playing.

  • That was Great... Please keep posting

  • I rated first

  • very well done. great
