theres no point to do green screen if you have to go around every edge and double check. Just outline with the pen tool and skip having to have a green screen and all that bs. Plus your subject is still left with green color on his face and watch etc.
These techniques really aren't designed for greenscreen removal. Extract and Eraser tools just don't work professionally. The true way to do it is in the channels. You can see how it works at photoshop-illustration(dot)blogspot(dot)com. The tools you mention are for more complex backgrounds, but greenscreen is used precisely because of how it works with the channels. That's what the pros use.
By far the best among the best of teachers every once else should move up to your level THANK YOU FOR YOUR PROFESIONALISIM. SOLE FAN FROM MEXICO. LOVE THE SOUTING VOICE AND CALMNESS, ALSO THE INDEPT EXPLANATION.
@legosareus I'd suggest watching some of my more recent videos on Extraction Methods. Once you extract the subject you can place it over any type of background
@legosareus I'm sure we all wish we had a Magic Wand in real life, but in Photoshop it is located in the Toolbar. Depending on your version, it may be hidden under the Quick Selection Tool (CS5). Press and hold on the current tool and a popout of hidden tools will appear.
I think he means the video overall... all I want to do is fast forward the whole video, that or sleep. But don't get me wrong... this was a great tutorial
@legosareus Sorry, this was not recorded with HD dimensions or settings...it's an old recording, so unless I re-recording the whole thing over it will never be HD. My later videos are all HD, though.
@iSilversaku Sorry--Elements does not support layer masks on pixel layers, only on Adjustments like Levels, so this tutorial will only go so far with Elements.
i have been useing photoshop for years now and i still learn things, i have seen alot of tutorials and i still learned some thing from you, don't lose the good work mama.
Hi Mama Shan! I am trying to cutout a girl wearing white from a white background. What is the best way to do that? Thanks in advance and by the way, i love your videos
use the eraser tool with a fuzzy setting. Just cut out the parts not too close to the subject with the lasso tool or anything else. Then erase what's still around the subject. Usually comes out very precise and u can always edit it
This is so awesome!! I've been doing it the hard way. I didn't know there were short cut buttons. Finally someone can tell me how it's done the easy way! Thanks Mama! :D
what makes your videos amazing is the fact that you will explain what every one of the million settings to each tool does. It is very easy to learn from your teaching style. i can't believe this is free! thanks =)
YOUR THE BEST BY FAR.. Check Out My Music AND Videos when you get a chance.? THanx mama keep up the good work. i just got photoshopcs4 and i feel like i know so much already. ive never been familiar with photoshop before. thanx for making it possible :)
First of all, not ALL other tutorials say NOT to use magic wand. Google magic wand and you'll find hundreds of tutorials that use it. Each tool, or menu command or channel masking technique has it's own unique properties and limits. I think one should experiment with all of them and then you might find some favorites or at least functional combinations.
It would be even longer and more boring because it is a combination of many tools and techniques and is more manual masking than anything. Watching these types of vids give you the skills...or should, to figure out how to apply them to more difficult extractions. White reveals black conceals, basic brush masking mantra.
Green Screen is mainly used for video software which has built in chroma key functions to filter it out. We get requests from rappers to shoot like this but I think the best bg is Light Gray, then you don't get color cast spills.
in your other video, the man in the picture was in perfect black and white mode... how did you make it? please give us tutorial on how are you going to make perfect black and white pictures! :D thanks!
I love your warm relaxing voice. You teach us great! Even for a strainger like me that doesn't speak much English your accent sounds familiar, clear much better than English. Keep on like this I'm gonna watch all your tutorials day by day in my free time. Thanks
The Magic Wand is nice and quick, but I always prefer spending the extra time creating paths with the pen tool using bezier curves for this kind of masking. Great tutorial, tho.
The same here !!!! This is my first view of your tutorials... and i want to say that i am in love with your video tutorials . You have a lot of patience :X
When you select your brush then go on to reveal more of the ear ring, arm, trousers and so on, is there a specific brush you need because my brushes do not give me the same result but instead just paint normally.
And you're probably getting tyred but thanx, the tutorial is really great, you being specific is extremly helpfull.
I use an Airbrush Soft Round. Adjust diameter with consecutive clicks of the left(for smaller) or right(for larger) bracket keys. Make sure you are painting on the mask. It should say Layer Mask appended to the title bar of the document window at the top. Painting w/ Black conceals the subject, White reveals. Also make sure the top options bar reflects the brush is in Normal blending mode and the Opacity and Flow are at 100%.
Great tutorial! When you introduce the tools and describe what they do is very helpful. Also what you are clicking on something, and you say Alt or Shift, alot of tutorials dont say what is actually going on and you do!
Wow!. You're an awesome instructor. I wonder if there may be anyone that knows Photoshop better than you. Naw, I don't think so. Thanks for your explicit, clear, abundant videos. Oh, and I love your accent. Thanks again.
i love how detailed you are with this tutorial :) i'v seen a lot of tutorials and the majority tell you to do this and do that but never tell you why (tolerance/anti-aliasing etc) so it is a nice change to hear and understand what the options i am ticking and unticking actually do :D
