  • "An Iraqi being a star of a major series..."

    Has she not seen Lost?

  • Well... to be fair. He is not referred to in every episode as Iraqi except in very early season flashbacks.

Also - and the character in Lost is part of an ensemble... not the star of the show... nor is he portraying a hero. In UNCLE - Kuryakin was a hero... fighting against tyranny in each episode to varying degrees. There IS a difference... however slight.

  • I love it! "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." is truly the best tv show EVER! :D

  • I remember when I was little we would all laugh whenever they mentioned Thrush. It's a nasty smelly infection horses get in their hooves. It always seemed so not evil. But I loved the show, except the 3rd season which sucked when they tried to have their writers do 2 one hour shows a week.

  • In case anyone was wondering, the balding man is Danny Biederman, creator of the online Spy-Fi archives. The woman in glasses who calls David 'hot' is Ellen Druda, site owner of DMc Fans Online. The blonde woman is Dr. Cindy W Walker, an associate professor of communication and media literacy. The dark-haired man who mentions the arms race in the 60s is Lee Pfeiffer, editor-in-chief of Cinema Retro. The interviews with fans and the stars are included on the MfU DVD set.

  • Thank you for identifying them all on this video. They were identified via graphics on the original TV airing of this story... but I had to use a non-graphics copy for this You Tube upload... for better video quality.

  • I just received The Man From U.N.C.L.E-The Complete series as a Christmas gift. It's really wonderful to see this series after many years. My first experience in watching the series dated by the late 70's and in Spanish, so I'm glad I have the opportunity to hear the show in its original English. All the special features are great. specially the interviews with David and Robert. I love both characters both my boy was Napoleon Solo. Una serie realmente Magnifica!

  • Can I borrow them when youve watched them.

    Its not on youtube........

  • Yeah I got all excited too then I tried to watch them. What I thought was super cool in the 60's when I was twelve now seems so boring and trite that it's painful to watch an entire episode. Man From Uncle has not aged well.

  • Thanks for your comment. For me - personally.... I still love the early episodes from the first two seasons. They still hold up as good drama / humor for me.

... the third season was damaged - as were MANY shows of the era.... by the stupidity of Batman's influence.

Lost In Space, The Green Hornet, UNCLE... even Star Trek's third season ( in part ) suffered from the campy stupidity of Batman.

  • omg, i just noticed, at 2.28 one of the posters are in swedish, awesome! ^^

  • As far as the purpose of UNCLE is concerned: Fighting against SMERSH, the criminal conspiration to push human race into salavery, ...there shuld be a proposal in the United Nations or somwhere else to make Men of Uncle exist again. Not in television this time, but in reality. We need that.

To :glamfoxbuster (the man of Uncle):I wish I could join you but I have little time spare because I work wth Buffy doing some vampire hunting. It serves the same purpuse, after all.

  • don't be so thick, its not real its a tv show!

  • But a good TV show. Let people enjoy it in their own way.

    Peace.

  • Excellent video.

  • Their car looks like a Prius.

  • I was an U.N.C.L.E. agent in the 60s. As far as I know I still am. Are there any more of us out there?

  • shouldn't the title be the men from uncle....lol

  • LOL... technically yes. However - the show was originally intended to feature only Robert Vaughn as the main star... and the character of Illya would be secondary - and recurring. But, when Illya became so popular... I imagine that factored into the title making process.

  • OMG! I haven't thought about this show in 40 years! After everything I've seen on YouTube, I thought I might just try searching for it, on the off chance someone besides me even remembered UNCLE. You have no idea how good it was to watch this. THANK YOU!

  • Glad you enjoyed it. It's on DVD - I love my set of videos.

  • U.N.C.L.E. was a fictious agency and as a former agent you know that.

Now, you must publically deny that you made the statement and asked the question.

  • Hey that's me!

  • Thank You for such wonderful commentary. It really helped make this video story work well. In fact, Robert Vaughn saw the video and was very pleased by the result. My thanks.

  • Wow, Ellen! You're famous! ;)

  • Thanks!

  • I have man From UNCLE lighters, cigarette cases, comm devices, machine guns from 1966-1968, all with hidden deployments. I was amazed. Retractible machine gun, a lighter gun. These were realistic. Anyone else have any?

  • those machine guns were cool looking. too bad i only an infant when the original run came out.

  • I had the Illia Kuryakin action figure, and he came with a little weapon that actually fired caps.

  • ooohhh... I want one too

  • Cool as hell! My favorite show! I had a Secret Sam attache and a hans solo gun too.

  • Nice tribute. They've aged pretty well.
