A centrifugal supercharger is another name for a blower that uses a wheel rather than say a roots style setup with veins that spin and pull air in and push it out and into the engine.

Blowers are in fact just GIANT superchargers. Superchargers take outside air and force it into the engine. The engine compensates for a large mass of air volume with a large mass of fuel. This mixture results in more horsepower. Turbochargers work the same exact way, except they don't take power to make power. They use exhaust gasses to make power which means there is no strain on the engine to create more power.
