  • Hi...is this Shaolin Xinyi or Dai??...His santi sort of looks like Shaolin...Wheras his elements are very rounded like Dai??...I know labels are meaningless in an Internal art, im just curious is all...;-)

  • thats cool

  • 1:19 to 1:29 his pulling an imaginary string

  • @pingpong16 A silk string :)

  • if you r not believing then u r blind. this is real shyt right here

  • how can this stand up against a boxer?

  • @stevelatinner Reflexes and precision. If you actually believe that Chinese martial arts are about dancing around in a real fight, you're stupid.

  • I agree with MrAgusrio. Def. Fajing here. Xing Yi has forms, but is actually an alphabet of moves. In any event, the monk's got power. His xing yi looks better than 99% of the absolute CRAP that is on YOUTUBE. Most xing yi vids have some dork, teacher or not, that has convinced others he's got some 'secret' moves or magic or something. In the real world, they would be smoked in about 5 seconds from some Mexican dishwasher that trains his ass off on weekends.

  • awesome internal power

  • I think this is the secret of shaolin kung fu. whether I am right? why now so spread out like this? is there someone who can explain this?

  • @MrAgusrio No. It is not shaolin. The movements are of Xing Yi, but I have never seen this form. Tho it is done in a way that purists don't seem to like here, it is powerful. It has fajing. You can do all the xing yi you want the right way, if you don't have fajing it means nothing. Again you can do it all wrong, if you got fajing, it's gonna work much better.

  • interesting. it has cheng taiji elements.

  • xing yi is an islamic style right?

  • I believe that's Xinyi, without the g, although I might be mistaken.

  • xing yi is a chinese internal martial art i.e. tai chi chuan, bagua zhang. In chinese it means mind form boxing. and is based off the 5 element creation and destruction system.

  • so no. surprising? there is a lot to learn from all cultures

  • @KurdishJihadist

    As I understand it...

Xinyiliuhequan was the art practiced by the Hua Community (chinese moslems). It came from the Henan province.

Xingyi has 3 branches, Henan, Shanxi and Hebei (most popular). I believe the Henan branch is the one that's tied the closest to Moslem.

What is demonstrated here looks more like a wushu inspired Xingyi, since he's also from Jing Wu.

Short answer to your question: Xingyi is not muslim

  • xing yi is one of the form of chinese wushu style's that was developed by muslims of henan, hebei, and yunnan province to protect themselves from the oppression they experienced from the manchu qinq dynasity

  • @KurdishJihadist Wrong. Do research and learn the history my friend.

  • There is an islamic style of xing yi. Though not all styles of xing yi are islamic.

  • is he trying to do fa jing? It's wierd looking Hsing Yi.

  • he has what is considered typical xy, but is not doing internal xy methods. Just compare to the better masters from hebei, as it looks as if what he is doing resembles hebei xy, its not shanxi so just compare to the known hebei masters and see if you feel their is a difference.

  • to say whether some form or style belongs to one kind of kung fu is not based on the legend, but on the fighting theory behind it. as Chinese language itself is a feeling-like language but not like English a description language, a lot of things were lost during the translation. Chinese will have much more feelings when we read scrolls than those not. It's not anyone's fault that cannt make the translation perfect, but it's your fault to believe all you got is everything.

  • This sure as hell isnt Xinyiba what this fake monk is doing. And not Xingyi for that matter either. Its a Shaolin person who simply knows XY moves. Not feelin it.

  • This is a tai ji master demonstrating Xing Yi quan.

not a fake monk, as you so rudly added. and if you were there ,you would certainly have felt the power in those moves.

  • ....the powerpoints, the only way you could be fooled is if u didnt know any better. My friend if u cant see the Shaolin in his demo I dont know what to tell u. Its obvious even! If a Taiji master, why the monk get up? I personally know real monk as a friend and he does Taiji & the result is the same. He knows the Taiji form and he emulates the fa-jing moves but his "power" is from his Shaolin training and not from Taiji development. Here is the same case. Shaolin person doing Xingyi moves.

  • Hello, Go to my channel, watch the 2 vids in my favorites.Sifu Zhao has more than 40 years of experience in interal&external styles of martial arts.He is the former federal coach of the boxing team in China.& head coach Wushu team in prov Guangdong.Joint founder of Chin woo org in Guanzhou city. &founder of Chin woo school in holland where I attend his lessns with much pleasure.

  • Hats off to you your teachers efforts. Good for Gongfu as a whole. Now that you say Chin Woo, it makes sense, as CW is an organization that documents & promotes as many Gongfu (& a few foreign) systems as they can. Again good for Gongfu. BUT, for me, I would not be content in learning XY from an amalgam group which does many many styles if I had a choice. If I was hellbent focused on XINGYI? I would prefer to learn from XINGYI people. I would easily bet that as this gentleman knows XY moves...

  • ...& prolly many other Gongfu, XY is not his specialization. Observe the many GOOD XY clips rite here on YT even among a wide variety of branches & they easily show some cohesion as to XY flavor, & then watch some Shaolin clips, and to an experienced eye, it should be obvious. The body method in this clip is identical to Shaolin development and not Neijia (internal boxing schools). But hey thats just MY opinion as I have focused ONLY on Neijia for over a decade, and you have your opinion.

  • I apologize for "fake monk" statement. But there ARE many out there. My intent was to inform not offend. Didnt know this was your teacher.

  • Apology accepted.

I agree there are a lot of fakes out there, but Sifu Zhao is a dedicated teacher. I myself am not learning XY Only Taiji Quan.& have Attended many fake schools, till I found this one. For me & many others it's the real Thing...

  • @108AAPAFWEREN Is Qufu Academy a real respectable place, Ive heard Siping Citys kung fu academy if fake.

  • Did not intend to be rude. Just state my opinion based on 12yrs of Neijia practice research & teaching-& 25yrs total m.a. experience. & I dont like when people mislead others. He is NOT showing XY shen fa (body mechanic). I dont doubt he has power, any1 can do moves with power, doesnt mean a thing. If u did XY for 20 yrs and knew ur stuff well & some Karate or Shaolin person learns some XY moves in a short time and mimicks....

  • (this paragraph resumes above at "...powerpoints".)

  • @DaiBoxer: you got any idea how many linages of xingyi there are? not only song, hubei and henan style, also family styles. this could be one of these family styles, it does not look like it but if you watch him closely you can see that he uses the same way to generate power like in normal xingyi. so stop bitching about him being a "fake monk", try achieving the same state of mind and body fusion, than you can start telling the world that you are "not feelin it".

  • @rAFiCoRe I guess you didnt read my other posts Ill just ignore your silly "bitching" statement Ive been thorough on my position Theres no bitching I dont need to as i dont care that much Just stating facts AS I UNDERSTAND THEM after 13 years in XY (8 years Hebei 5 years Shanxi) including extensive training in the birthplace of XY - Taigu County Shanxi Province as an indoor student. Again I responded to (someone else not you) to inform not insult & I apologized for it. So please hop off my nutz.

  • @DaiBoxer u dumbass this xingyiquan and dont talks shit if u dnt know

i practice xingyi everyday so i know this is xingyi

  • @50150187 Not talking shit Junior. Just stating my opinion which I am entitled to. If thats all you got from my DETAILED explanations of my viewpoint, than it is obvious to all which of us "doesnt know". U may or may not train XY everyday, but I train, research, and TEACH everyday for the last 12+ yrs. My YT page fully tells exactly who I am and what I do and have done and on what basis I form my educated opinion. What about you mystery man?

  • suns book is not a reliable source for history. To say Xy has no taoist connection is wrong as well, as the original Xingyi was Xin Yi, and Dai Xinyi has alot of taoist influence within its training regimen, and to say Xinyiba has no connection to xy is also an overstatement as many xy masters have learned xinyiba as well

  • old xinyiba is from shaolin, also ji ji ke train in shaolin as well, to say xingyi is only based on taoism is wrong

  • Xinyiba is absolutely not related to Xingyiquan.

  • this is a style what wang doing on tekken

  • a monk did xing yi????

  • how do you know he´s a monk?and why shouldn´t monks do xing yi?

  • he wears like a monk, and his hair style. monk do xing yi, like man wears skirt. you can, but that is not what you should do.

  • so you say everyone dressing and looking like a monk actually is one? interesting theory.and which temple in the world do you refer to,in which it´s inappropriate for a monk to do xingyi?

  • no matter which temple in the world. xing yi is not from Buddism. what you would say if a muslim has Jesus cross as a necklace??

  • Monks would not be prohibited from practicing a form of martial art that is not traditional Shaolin curriculum. That would be foolishly close-minded...a trait that is not encouraged by Shaolin Ch'an Buddhism.

That's not to say I think this guy is a monk. I don't.

  • Xing yi and monk basically belongs to different religion. It seems your mind is opened widely enough, which is another problem for nowadays people that they think regulations are unnecessary.

I dont care what he truly is a monk or not, but what he weared and no hair make me think he wants other people to regard him as a monk.

  • No, they don't. Althought Taoist principles are often applied in the study of "internal" martial arts, the only one with direct Taoist origins is Ba Gua Zhang (the belief that all internal styles originated from Wu Dang is a myth). And "open-minded" and "unregulated" are not analogous terms in any sense, so I'm not touching that.

  • first, xing yi's theory belongs to taoism, but not buddism. second, taoism martial arts does not equal to wu dang. instead, i havent heard anything about ba gua related to wu dang, but xing yi and tai ji does.

open mind still needs regualtion. different religions have different dignity and proudness. you can accept muslim have crossbar as necklace. good for you.

  • Xing Yi's theory does not "belong" to Taoism. As I said, Taoist principles are more often than not applied to the study of it, but it was not developed out of Taoist belief, nor was Tai Ji...only Ba Gua was specifically developed out of Taoist principle. I'm not going to debate on the history of martial arts with someone who has already decided they're right. Do some research (and I don't mean wikipedia...read some books. Sun Lu Tang has written some excellent ones).

  • And as I've also said, being open minded and being unregulated are not interchangeable terms, so that point really has no place in this.

  • Sun's 拳意述真 形意拳学 八卦拳学 i have read them, for history, not very convincable. No offence but i think he like to play tricks in his books.

To be regulated is necessary, esp in Kung fu. Open mind is required, but it based on common sense.

  • Bagua was developed from Taoism? Bagua concept was from Yi Jing, which is more earlier than Taoism start. Also, Sun Lutang is only for his Sun Style. He is famous because of 2 points. One, he is good for writing in his peer. Two, a lot of students of him were Lei Tai fighters back to 1920s. They followed him after they won some matchs. Dong Hai Chuan or Ren's Ba Pan Zhang history dont mention they come from Wu Dang.

  • whether you think someone has decided their mind is your judgement. this is also a prejudice from yourself. "Taoist principles are more often than not applied to the study of it", are you trying to translate 无为之治 or something else?make sure what you got from english version kung fu books is the most complete meaning but not only part meaning of it.

  • I'm no historian or expert, but I've been studying wudangshan 108 taijiquan for the past 8 years. This is not from the touristy stuff you see on the YT videos. My teacher learned from a 90 YO man in a folk school (Ding Hong Kui). Ding yeye, in turned studied with another 90 YO man when Ding was a 6 YO boy. This already puts our lineage older than Yang style taijiquan. Ding yeye could count his lineage back centuries. So how is taijiquan not an Wudang art?

  • @Ge1Ri4 the Chen's have been doing it for centuries too. But I do think Tai Chi could very well have come from Wudang, I just think we'll never know for certain.

  • you seem to think quite a lot of yourself. It does not speak well of you.

  • i dont have any profit conflict with this guy. i just said what i think is correct.

  • so if i'm not japanese, does that mean i can't learn karate?

  • yes you can. but it will be a comedy show if you do your karate with sumo costume.

  • Christ I'm glad they didn't play the Wong Fei Hung tune. This is excellent Xing Yi and good power generation.

  • very impressive, a good video

  • Keep getting your ass kicked by Whitey I see.

  • this is beautiful!!! Thank for posting this rverbeek.... this is remarkable at the patience
