Jamas en mi vida escuche una coloratura tan perfecta con belleza de timbre. JDF no conoce el falseto porque todo lo puede, ademas de tener todo en perfecto control. El paquete completo del belcanto. Cualquiera diria que Rossini se proyecto epocas componiendo para JDF porque pensaba que ese ideal llegaria en algun momento.

I saw Juan Diego's performance with the LA Opera last year, ( that same evening he received the Domingo award) and the reaction from the audience after the "cessa" was the same!!! You can literally feel the entire hall stopped breathing until he was done, and then thunderous applause.. It was spellbounding. I still enjoy this production on DVD as well as the ROH production, also on DVD.
He is the most incredible tenor in the world, in this particular ophere lindoro-rossini he is ameizing, i do not care the bad comentaries about him, the musical people, the masters in music arround the worl have to accept believe it or not he is tthe best ever. Dr. Hiram Calderon Mexico
florez is a treasure. people who are lucky enough to see and hear him live will tell the grandchildren in years to come. i dont remember anyone like this. he moves, act and looks spendidly.......and then the voice!!!!! this is the total package.
Saw JDF in Barber at Royal Opera House last Thursday. Production was spectacular and when he finished this aria the place went crazy - one character looked at his watch!!! Totally amazing - not just JDF but the entire cast
Here he has a tendency towards being a tippy-toe tenor, rising on his toes for big notes. Neil Shicoff is the worst; but then he's short. JDF seems to have got over it in "La Fille." good direction. GREAT singing!

this is a wonderful production. Juan Diego la verdad es que sobresales entre todos en esta prodduction. Yo se muy ben que voce no necesitas de mis felicitaciones pero de cualquier manera me siento obligado a decirte qeu eres excellente.
Porque esa mala costumbre de subirse a la fama de otros, eso es lo que me da colera de nosotros los peruanos, esta bien q Juan Diego Florez sea un excelente tenor, pero no hay q vivir solo de logros de otros, sino de unos mismos.

Stupendo! Mi vengono i brividi ogni volta che sento quest'aria!! Florez ha una voce magica e l'uso che ne fa è strepitoso! Non è facile eseguire un brano di Rossini: se uno non è all'altezza, rischia di diventare monotono e di eseguire tutti i vari virtuosismi senza personalità, alla stregua di un esercizio... Florez non corre questo rischio, assolutamente!

Definitivamente Juan Diego Florez es la voz Rossiniana que nos hacía falta y sólo equiparada a la de Luigi Alva, tenor peruano. Florez hace gala de una voz brillante y promisoria en el basto campo de la ópera en donde encontrará un muy amplío repertorio sólo reservado para los cantantes más talentosos y con recursos vocales privilegiados. Ël hará historia. Es un orgullo latinoamericano y universal.
The conductor is leading the orchestra out of the Rossini Style. Where are de crescendos? All is in the same volume. Where is the piano and where the forte. And what about the "tempi". Watching all the opera is tedious but is worth listening for Juan Diego.
