You rlly think that Cloud is not a Soldier 1st class? Please start Final Fantasy VII and watch the intro and tell me what you read or hear. Thats what Cloud says in the Intro after that he jumps off the train and fights the 2 soldiers and after that he follows barret to the mako reactor.

Check the story before calling anyone a moron. Didn't you listen properly? Cloud has Zack's memories. And zack was Soldier first class, which is why Cloud thinks he is too. So naturally he would say he's a soldier, it's what his memory is telling him.

Later on, in FF VII, he finds out that his memories are fake.

Go check on wikipedia if you don't believe me, the story is clearly explained there. I never played the game, but I watched back all the cutscenes so I knew what happened. Cloud never was in Soldier. He was an Infantryman.

well actually there's a small glitch in the game plot. i mean, didn't the turks go look for Zack? you see them leaving, but don't see anything of them after that. What if they did find him, right after Cloud left. If they were fast enough they could bring him back to shinra and i think Hojo would be able to do something to keep him alive...

just the theory i thought of for the fanfic i'm writing ;P
