When the impending global revolution comes, and come it will, Paxman and his cronies at the "Beeb" will be the first to be 'hauled over the coals' - these cunts make me sick. They think they are clever with their smirking little sychophantic faces, toeing the party line. Little do they realise they have backed the wrong horse!! People power shall prevail.
What Paxman doesn't get, considering that he is not of nimble mind, is that the UK is going broke following the EU bureaucratic standard. Worse, the UK military is in severe decay because of the trade-off its obligations to the EU. That is an attack in UK sovereignty. As for the prisons, the UK needs more prisons because there are more criminals - lots more criminals. I'd recommend prison-barges myself, rather than building them on UK soil.
UKIP ALL THE WAY!! this country would be such a fairer place to live, we would ALL prosper out of politics like this, there needs to be REAL change in this country, a referendum on the European Union would be a start, in a so called “democratic nation”, our civil liberties are being ignored, all you Westminster toffs and European union fat cats can GO TO HELL!!!! We all need to speak up and do something about it.
The only reason anyone thinks Paxman is 'good at debate' is because he shows NO respect to his opposition in an effort to make them look foolish (e.g. not looking them in the eye, rephrasing perfectly rational arguments to make them sound stupid, e.g. the 'garage' comment or the comment about soldiers 'sitting around doing nothing) and as soon as he is proven wrong he changes the subject before others can become aware. It's just not a fair fight when the opponent is also the chair of the debate.
that sir paxman isn't even listening to all the intelligent arguments mr farage has. Ignorance is a sign of weakness. It is a symptom of thinking that you are wright, but actually you aren't.
Farage is right about EU, but oh so wrong about jails, increase military spending and "doing something" about Iran becoming a nuclear country. If he's all about an independent UK and European nations, he should support the independence of other nations, like Iran. If western countries stayed the hell out of the middle east's business, there would be no wars in the middle east and the world would be a much, much better place indeed!
@nvieira100 If western countries stayed out of the Middle East in general, the Middle East would be extremely poor and would start fighting among themselves anyway. Remember, if it wasn't for the USA buying huge quantities of expensive oil, the Middle East nations would have no money to support their peoples
Anyway on names: what sort of a name is "Paxman" aha!! luckily I do research geneology.......his father was an employee of Bernard Mathews! so: there you have it!
As much as I agree with a fair bit of what Farrage has to say. I must say that Paxman will always play the devils advocate with those who he interviews, and will always play it well.
What I like about this interview is that he kept his answers concise, sometimes he waffles on, taking tangents and returning to the point later.
I am glad somebody is making a stand because with everything going on recently I would rather jump ship than bail out the water but this is a nation possibly worth saving so bravo to the guy.
@scud69er When people say we need common sense it always worries me. Common sense does not belong to the right wing and in any event it isn't common sense it's a view. No doubt Hitler and Stalin said it was common sense to liquidate people...
oh dear what a nightmare collection of policies, why i like paxman no bullshit gets to the point exposes this phony for exactly what he is, a phony why UKIP dont get elected to the house of commons - as ideotic and as fantasy based as as the liberals.
Paxman should take UKIP a bit more seriously. What's Paxmans agenda or what is the agenda of the BBC who apparently get some sort of grant from the EU.... At least UKIP are offering the British public an opportunity to have their say on whether or not they wish to continue to be a part of the EU, a wasteful, inept and corrupt to the hilt, 'union'.
The question of bias is slightly more problematic than the video description makes out. The BBC generally interview political figures from a critical standpoint and attempt to take the opposite view where possible. There is nothing wrong with the questions P asks, he is right to challenge F on UKIP policies in this interview. The real problem with the interview is P's mocking style. He should give democracy and freedom of opinion more respect. F wins this for me easily (a Labour supporter)
Paxman was a joke in this interview! I've always respected him as an interviewer before; but having a UKIP leaflet to read, as though they weren't good enough to research before was pathetic, immature and amateur!
Paxman tried to give Nigel the run around and make him look stupid but Nigels too intelligent and gave him a good straight answer every step of the way. Farage is a legend.
Farrage touches on the ideas of liberty whilst advocating that we double the prison population and spend more money on the military......I dot get that Ron Paul feeling (integrity) from him unfortunately!! Which is a pity as he's posibly the best of a bad bunch in British Politics.
What a sneering, overbearing, puffed up, arrogant, pompous prat is Paxman. Far too full of his own import and self worth. Loathsome character. If it had been me he was interviewing, I would have spent the night, at least, in the cells.
I’m with him on getting out (completely) from the European Union but not at all on increasing military funding and/or waging any wars or even thinking of warring against other nations.
Does and WILL he remove ALL our troops from foreign countries? That's my biggest worry as we have seen time and time again that politicians always have these great policies before they get into power but once they are in power they do not fulfil their promises.

Subsequently he will pander to the money men of the world who are really in charge anyway
I SUPPORT NIGEL FARAGE THE ONE PERSON WHO WOULD GET US OUT OF THIS DREADFUL MESS LEFT BY IDIOT BROWN <CONSERVATIVES ARE NO BETTER THEY WILL NOT ALLOW A REFERENDUM WHICH THEY PROMISED!AS FOR CLEGG HE IS A PAIN IN THE BACKSIDE!
Paxman have you never heard we used to have consciption in the uk. Why be so rude about a mans name it just showed how ignorant you can be, you sound on this occcasion to be a patronizeing smug prick.
Evil BBC communist Anti-British, Paxman your just a rude scumbag, one day you will speak to someone like this who wont stand for it, Farage wiped the floor with you...
I agree largely with his economic policies, and of course about the EU. Expansion of the military is interesting, but also the cause of the decline of all the great powers throughout history. His policy regarding prisons is plain bonkers though. If you are committed to state deregulation proper, that means reducing the amount of prisoners by legalising vice; prostitution and drugs. Drugs particularly are responsible for much violent crime, precisely because they are monopolised by drug gangs.
It's funny when Paxman interviews Farage, Farage gives him straight answers, and Paxman can't believe that a politician is actually answering his questions. Nigel worked in the no-bullshit private sector. Boris is not a natural poltiican - he's a journalist first. Boris makes honest attempts to answer questions, but he's not as economical with his words as Nigel.
If anyone has seen Farage on QT then you would know he would gain a lot more credibilty and respect if he did not try to focus every answer on the EU.
All the BBC bias comments make me laugh. Paxman is the same to all his guests, I've never seen him give a politician an easy ride. With regards to Farage, he always comes across as a populist smug prick. I support some of UKIP's ideas, but this guy turns me right off. His outburst in the European parliament was unnecessary too. And the old guy they had in charge at the time of the election was even worse
@ukipwebmaster I'll freely admit I'm biased against Farage and I'll never vote for UKIP whilst he's in charge. Get a less annoying leader, who doesn't alienate most people, and you might have a chance of overtaking the lib dems and become England's 3rd party
@ukipwebmaster Tiny minority? i think you'll find its you who's in the minority. you have 7 councillors nationwide, no councils and no MPs. no wonder if you're so deluded.
@xerojreffaj Learn to read - people that don't care for Nigel are in a minority. Mehtinks you are just another troll pretending to be what you are not.
UKIP improved their share of the vote yet again in the local elections and if you really interested in UKIP you would already know this instead of spouting carefully scripted soundbites.
The big losers were the Lib Dems who were decimated and the Tories and Labour who are now confined to the South and North respectively.
@ukipwebmaster That's just a plain guess on your part, you have no idea whether that's actually true. As far as I know there's not been a nationwide poll on the popularity of Nigel Farage. Regardless, it's quite simple really. I'm a potential supporter of UKIP, i agree with your flagship policies on the EU and immigration, but I can't see myself voting for you whilst you have farage in charge, because I can't stand the man. That's my personal opinion.
@xerojreffaj That's fair enough, but know that he became leader as a result of being voted in. So among UKIP members, he was chosen as the man to lead. I think ukipwebmaster is probably referring to anecdotal evidence - I see this too - people like him and would like to vote ukip, except that they seem too willing to vote for the party they've always voted for out of force of habit, rather than sticking to their principles and biting the bullet. We need to turn this around :-)
@ukipwebmaster What? "tiny minority?" 17% at best of the popular vote (EU elections), Farage got 8% in his own seat at the General Election and his party got 5.5% in the recent Feltham by-election. Like Farage you are talking rubbish.
@xerojreffaj Farage has the balls to speak up so annoys people like you. I'd rather he be arrogant and annoying (and JUST!) rather than being a polite mouse
@xerojreffaj you stupid prick - na nah nah nah i don't like him nah nah nah i agree with the sovereignty of the nation state but nah nah nah it's not as important as my kowtowing to the cult of personality and his personality isn't to my taste nah nah nah - you cunt
@xerojreffaj populist...in so far as he has a popular cause so he says things that a lot of people want to hear. And you may find equally aggressive critics of the EU but you will be hard pressed to find a more articulate one. I'm saying this and I'm not even sure he's right.
@xerojreffaj Then you're screwed. You shouldn't choose your leader by whether or not you'd have him round for dinner. It's that kind of 'popularism' that's screwed this nation. You pick on ability. Nobody else is in the EU Commission doing what he's doing - pointing out the bloody obvious. And let's not forget that defining smug is based on your interpretation, not a fact that can be interpreted into any useful practical application for anyone else. Are you 12 by any chance?
"You can never read the future". Well Mr Farage was right about that with no ground attack Harriers left for operations in Libya and not enough Typhoon pilots trained in ground attack ! Now the un-elected Commission in Brussels wants a 5% increase in their fat budget, probably to teach more Africans how to dance or improve the quality of life of dogs in Hungary (see Open Europe research) !
It's evidently better 'rhetoric' than what lib/lab/con put forward; the parties that avoid the European question; whereas Farage is one of few politicians to put forward a true voice of oposition not only in the EU parliament; but against the BBC: Blatently Bias Corporation. Nigel Farage: the voice of truth and reason. So who elected that Herman von what's his name? Democratically elected? no. The EU parliament is a joke.
Don't get me wrong here, I'm no fan of the EU and could potentially agree with a eurosceptic party on their policies, but most of what he's saying here is just populist tubthumping. Cutting quangos, minimising bureaucratic waste and the rest are more empty rhetoric than they are meaningful policies. The one thing that puts me off UKIP is the way they seem to try and target tabloid headlines as a proxy for voters.
@ukipwebmaster Banana being the exception, other than this, there is no R in a lot of english words, its afterwards, not arfterwards, and grass not grarsse. Thankfully most of Britain other than in the south of england realise this!
@ukipwebmaster However I agree with Nigels pronunciation of his name, as it is a name and my derive from anywhere so its open to interpretation, the rest of the english language, however, isnt.
Paxman is just a media whore, "War with Iran" Fucking shill, The bank of England is not some wing of the British goverment,it's a privity run organisation/Rothschild banking cabal, who have the 'god' given ability to create Fiat/paper money from thin air, which is loaned to the state/Goverment at INTEREST backed by your taxes,In the first six months of 2010, the... debt interest payments were £21.6bn. The debt is fictional all we have to do install a central sovereign debt free money systerm
@Kanoki989 It's probably because the Guardian and the BBC have been successful in lumping them with the BNP, despite UKIP being non-racist and the BNP being far-left rather than right-wing in their policies, and the traditional Tory media, happy with the satus quo hasn't done anything to put them straight, the only way you can find non-biased information on UKIP and actually hear what they have to say without bias and spin is on the internet.
What a total condescending, self righteous prick is the Paxman. Arrogance personified. This is the face of woolly thinking, sneering, holier than thou liberalism we must fight with all our mights if we are to get back on track. Loved the 'garage' put down. Trumped Paxman!
I find Nigel slightly condescending sometimes, but he seems to have principles which is a rare treasure in politics. There is definetely bias against him in the BBC, I mean they came second in the elections ffs...
@philipmcjim No, cut spending on wasteful quangos we can definitely do without and make sure our troops are adequately equipped and prepared to defend the national interest in places like the Falklands. haha???
@ukipwebmaster The Falklands ....is a curious campaign to study. (my father served there) however Kuwait, Seirra Leone (as long ago as that was) and the recent gurilla/car bombing wrathful illeducated sheep that plauge the decent people of the arab world; are definatly areas of british interest that deserved nothing less than our up-most attention.
It's possible to cut public spending and maintain the standard of public services very easily, it's just that Labour have framed the terms of debate in regard to services in a shitty way that benefits their wastrel tendencies; they've contrived to make ANY debate about cuts to effectively equate to the absolute desecration of public services. Any debate about the future of the NHS is, equally, an automatically negative one which means privatisation, closure etc. Fuck Labour.
Pax man is tried to make nigel look like a fool with the way he condescendingly asked him questions but it did not work. The reason being that nigel farage and U.K.I.P. stand for common sense and are in touch with reality, unlike Pax Man and the B.B.C. who have been biased in the amount of coverage other political paties have had.
I urge people to read the UKIP manifesto, paxman was really unfair here...
UKIP's manifesto can be found on their homepage at ukip dot (org) at the bottom(ish) of the homepage on the left... It is concise common sense and well worth a read.
If you don't like BBC bias I wouldn't go complaining, it's a waste of time. See Guy Fawkes' blog (April 19, 2010) - not that you wouldn't know this already...
I normally enjoy Paxman's interviews. He's a bit full of himself sometimes and goes for cheap shots, but asks uncomfortable questions. This interview, however, was a disgrace. Paxman treated Farage as a child who had scribbled down some wacky ideas. Paxman may well hold the UKIP in contempt, but he has a duty to deal with political parties' representatives in a respectful way. This interview was simply insulting. Just like the EU, I can't wait for the BBC to come crashing down.
@jhfgruytty653gd Amen. Paxman is beyond contempt. The sooner democracy blows through the BBC the better,it is so left wing it makes Stalin seem a democrat.
@135yearswaiting Democracy is about letting Paxman (and others) laying into all politicians - which he does. Farage and people here mistake criticism for bias when it is a part of balance. He lays in (badly I'll admit) to all politicians. What would be bias is if Farage weren't interviewed...ever; or if he were overly nice to Farage. What exactly is biased about Paxman? He does the same to Labour, LDs et al. That's his style.
Micheal Gove actually owned Paxman recently. Farage does very well in this interview - if it wasn't for Paxman's self-preening self-righteous superior attitude then UKIP would easily get a better press. You could probably challenge the BBCs impartiality on that interview alone.
The big reason not to disarm or run down your military, and also (inter alia) the reason not to vote for Lib Dims, is, as Farage points out, that you never know what's coming. However, this viewpoint might be given more teeth by mentioning the following example: that of the 1930s. Socialism, Disarmament, Chamberlain's "Peace in our Time"... and as a result we damn near lost the Second World War. Do we really want to run that risk again?
I LOVE FARAGE HE TELLS IT HOW IT IS I DONT VOTE BUT I WOULD VOTE UKIP

I approve of really grilling politicians but Paxman looks such a fool here!
Paul2uall 9 months ago
All the BBC bias comments make me laugh. Paxman is the same to all his guests, I've never seen him give a politician an easy ride. With regards to Farage, he always comes across as a populist smug prick. I support some of UKIP's ideas, but this guy turns me right off. His outburst in the European parliament was unnecessary too. And the old guy they had in charge at the time of the election was even worse
xerojreffaj 9 months ago
@xerojreffaj No bias there then...........
ukipwebmaster 9 months ago 27
@ukipwebmaster I'll freely admit I'm biased against Farage and I'll never vote for UKIP whilst he's in charge. Get a less annoying leader, who doesn't alienate most people, and you might have a chance of overtaking the lib dems and become England's 3rd party
xerojreffaj 9 months ago
@xerojreffaj Let's cut to the chase here. I'm all in favour of Paxman giving politicians a grilling but this was very lame indeed and fell flat.
Like Paxman you don't like Nigel but are in a tiny minority so get over it.
ukipwebmaster 9 months ago 25
@ukipwebmaster Tiny minority? i think you'll find its you who's in the minority. you have 7 councillors nationwide, no councils and no MPs. no wonder if you're so deluded.
xerojreffaj 9 months ago
@xerojreffaj Learn to read - people that don't care for Nigel are in a minority. Mehtinks you are just another troll pretending to be what you are not.
UKIP improved their share of the vote yet again in the local elections and if you really interested in UKIP you would already know this instead of spouting carefully scripted soundbites.
The big losers were the Lib Dems who were decimated and the Tories and Labour who are now confined to the South and North respectively.
ukipwebmaster 9 months ago 14
@ukipwebmaster That's just a plain guess on your part, you have no idea whether that's actually true. As far as I know there's not been a nationwide poll on the popularity of Nigel Farage. Regardless, it's quite simple really. I'm a potential supporter of UKIP, i agree with your flagship policies on the EU and immigration, but I can't see myself voting for you whilst you have farage in charge, because I can't stand the man. That's my personal opinion.
xerojreffaj 9 months ago
@xerojreffaj That's fair enough, but know that he became leader as a result of being voted in. So among UKIP members, he was chosen as the man to lead. I think ukipwebmaster is probably referring to anecdotal evidence - I see this too - people like him and would like to vote ukip, except that they seem too willing to vote for the party they've always voted for out of force of habit, rather than sticking to their principles and biting the bullet. We need to turn this around :-)
msugda 7 months ago
@ukipwebmaster What? "tiny minority?" 17% at best of the popular vote (EU elections), Farage got 8% in his own seat at the General Election and his party got 5.5% in the recent Feltham by-election. Like Farage you are talking rubbish.

@xerojreffaj populist...in so far as he has a popular cause so he says things that a lot of people want to hear. And you may find equally aggressive critics of the EU but you will be hard pressed to find a more articulate one. I'm saying this and I'm not even sure he's right.
InnocenceExperience 3 months ago
@xerojreffaj Then you're screwed. You shouldn't choose your leader by whether or not you'd have him round for dinner. It's that kind of 'popularism' that's screwed this nation. You pick on ability. Nobody else is in the EU Commission doing what he's doing - pointing out the bloody obvious. And let's not forget that defining smug is based on your interpretation, not a fact that can be interpreted into any useful practical application for anyone else. Are you 12 by any chance?
MusicStudyMan 2 months ago
"You can never read the future". Well Mr Farage was right about that with no ground attack Harriers left for operations in Libya and not enough Typhoon pilots trained in ground attack ! Now the un-elected Commission in Brussels wants a 5% increase in their fat budget, probably to teach more Africans how to dance or improve the quality of life of dogs in Hungary (see Open Europe research) !
Good luck to UKIP, keep telling it like it is.

Why don't more British people vote UKIP? It's a serious question, is there something particularly wrong with them or is it because they're new?
Kanoki989 1 year ago 2
@Kanoki989 It's probably because the Guardian and the BBC have been successful in lumping them with the BNP, despite UKIP being non-racist and the BNP being far-left rather than right-wing in their policies, and the traditional Tory media, happy with the satus quo hasn't done anything to put them straight, the only way you can find non-biased information on UKIP and actually hear what they have to say without bias and spin is on the internet.

ukipwebmaster 1 year ago 5
@ukipwebmaster The Falklands ....is a curious campaign to study. (my father served there) however Kuwait, Seirra Leone (as long ago as that was) and the recent gurilla/car bombing wrathful illeducated sheep that plauge the decent people of the arab world; are definatly areas of british interest that deserved nothing less than our up-most attention.
temporaldisplacement 1 year ago
@philipmcjim

Just like the EU, I can't wait for the BBC to come crashing down.
jhfgruytty653gd 1 year ago 10
@jhfgruytty653gd Amen. Paxman is beyond contempt. The sooner democracy blows through the BBC the better,it is so left wing it makes Stalin seem a democrat.
135yearswaiting 5 months ago
@135yearswaiting Democracy is about letting Paxman (and others) laying into all politicians - which he does. Farage and people here mistake criticism for bias when it is a part of balance. He lays in (badly I'll admit) to all politicians. What would be bias is if Farage weren't interviewed...ever; or if he were overly nice to Farage. What exactly is biased about Paxman? He does the same to Labour, LDs et al. That's his style.
JackRance1910 2 months ago
Micheal Gove actually owned Paxman recently. Farage does very well in this interview - if it wasn't for Paxman's self-preening self-righteous superior attitude then UKIP would easily get a better press. You could probably challenge the BBCs impartiality on that interview alone.
Belegaer 1 year ago 3
The big reason not to disarm or run down your military, and also (inter alia) the reason not to vote for Lib Dims, is, as Farage points out, that you never know what's coming. However, this viewpoint might be given more teeth by mentioning the following example: that of the 1930s. Socialism, Disarmament, Chamberlain's "Peace in our Time"... and as a result we damn near lost the Second World War. Do we really want to run that risk again?
I Don't Agree With Nick Clegg.
