you can get the cable on amazon for like $5. I dont recommend ordering the HDD from amazon, since the one I got was a cheaply made knockoff. Completely counterfeit. Go get a refurb from Gamestop for half the price. It will be a real microsoft HDD.

Yup, I've just been done by some TWAT on ebay as my 250Gb HDD isn't recognised as a 'Full Performance' Drive and is only being shown as a 16Gb capacity. And yeah, it says 'Made In China', and yeah I've just been done for £55. If he doesn't accept it and refund me I'm gonna tear him a new arsehole.

I have a problem: I've had my Xbox 360 about 3 years (old white one) and I was running out of storage space in my 20gb hdd, so I bought a transfer cable and a 60gb hdd. Then hooked it all up accordingly, but after that when I went to transfer my content, my Xbox 360 (same old one) insisted that my 60gb hdd I'd bought was a usb storage device with only 15.9gb on it. But when I put it into my 360 normally it appears as a 60gb hard drive again. How did this happen and how can I fix it?

I tried this after the new update and it got debugged for a USB Flash Drive now it no longer reads as a XBOX HDD. I thought when you recovered your account it transferred everything you downloaded on that gamertag, and it just carried over to the new Xbox 360 console that you recovered it on.. @MrTreeeeez You can put DVDs in your Xbox as if it was a dvd player, and play the movie like that. Unless you have xbox live, there is no way to download movies on to your xbox. If you are trying to get movies off of your computer onto your xbox, you can use a hard drive and transfer cable I suppose, but I don't know if it would work. Just buying your dvds or getting xbox live and netflix would be a lot easier.

did you reformat the hard drive? if you use the wrong cable, it WILL reformat the HDD as a USB storage device, which brings its storage down to 16gb or something like that. unfortunately, your HDD is permanently done for. When this happened to me, i told the retailer i bought the HDD from that the HDD was bad and wasn't being recognized. Then, they replaced it for me. Hope all goes well for you!

I just got off the phone to XBOX and they are say if you have the XBox 360 4G and does not pop up its because your Old HDD hard drive has more then 4G on it and thats why it will not pop up or you dont have the update. My transfer cable will not work on my New slim. The screen will not pop up like it should. I think when this happens I think you need the CD even if you have the April USB update. No one has a Answer to this problem not even Microsoft. I can use Xport 360 and open my profile on the hard drive so I know it work. The problem is the New slim is not seeing it right but only as a USB Flash Drive. So lets all Figure this problem out? THANKS

The is a much easier way. Just Copy the saved files over to a normal memory stick, or a external hdd. Just make sure you make a back up of your files first

I recently got a transfer kit to transfer all my data from my old 20 gig to my 120gig i follow all the steps 1.Put my old Hardrive into my xbox 2. Then i attach the transer kit to my 120 gig and then into the back of the xbox 3.
