The Earth is to heating up. Its called Global Warming. U know the hole in the Ozone Layer? Ozone layer protects us from heat rays from the sun but there is a big hole in the ozone so all that heat is slowly getting in and not escaping. The Atlantic-midOcean-ridge. It drives Europe and America apart from each other by 3 cm a year. This created the atlantic ocean. Iceland is right on top of it , it actualy splitts the iceland, exposing earths mantle at places. So ,Yes there has been pyroclastic events there in the past. And new icelands are also frequently popping out of the atlantic there. No other country in the world has so many active volcanoes:) (need i say mooe?)

This latest icelandic event is a basaltic eruption, and most of what you are seeing escape right now is steam. It will not have any pyroclastic events.

And Indonesia has the highest number of active volcanoes in the world. Not Iceland.

i think the ocean is the world fridge. if the ocean gets to hot i think volcanos would erupt more frequently and in bigger volume.. the world is heating up and i think a massive eruption is way over due. 1 volcano has the ability to block the sun for many years consequently ending life on this plant

The uploader was clearly being nice when he said everyone is entitled to their own opinion - I would say you need to get some facts straight before you can have one. This volcano erupted because Iceland is located on a divergent margin (mid ocean ridge) allowing mantle to upwell through the thinned crust and every so often, erupt.
