Today I started playing A Link to the Past at about noon dowloaded on my Wii, and right now It's 11 P.M and I just finished the Ice Palace. I'm not doing a speed run and I have done basically every side quest possible at that point in the game (I have every item except for the red mail, mirror shield, bombos, silver arrows, gold sword, and cane of somalia, I have 15 hearts) and I've only seen my dad's completion screen to know what each item is. I've never played it before.

@theshredder39 I think because initially, like most of the Zelda series, Link starts as a normal Hylian, not a hero. So when his hair turns blonde, that symbolizes that he has become the Hero of Hyrule.

Now that Zelda is a MUCH more established series, some parts of the lore are more set in stone than others.

@Crashgek when it comes down to it the reason could be anything, it could be that Nintendo had a texture problem they forgot meaing that either Link was supposed to have brown hair for the whole game or blonde hair, either way it would make sense considering there were Links with blonde hair and Links with brown hair but i rather just leave it as a belief cause Nintendo is never going to explain most of this stuff to us,there's still alot of unexplained things in the series
