I have the Kodak zi8 and let me tell you it smokes all of the other pocket cams. The webbie, flip, aswell as the vado cant compete with the quality of the kodak. Its shoots 720p 60fps aswell as 1080p. Sound is great too. I highly recommend picking one up. Dont bother with the others..

I looked at the Kodak Zi8, while the external mic is a plus, the 60fps and 1080p on the Zi8 is not that big of a benefit, the wide angle lens on the Vado HD is awesome, the Zi8 when in 1080p especially is severely cropped. Its like you are permanently zoomed in.

Almostzero you are very right... I owned both kodak and now the Vado HD.. Vado HD is much better and the quality is the same very little difference. Like you said the Kodak lens and even the "Flip" series are very "Telephoto" lenses and your stuck in a "Tight" crop as well as the zoomed lens really makes handheld footage very very shaky. The worst thing about the Kodak is you can not "Delete" video clips on the camera you have to do it on the computer! So you can not dump video clips on the go.

what are you talking about? you can delete videos on the kodak

Not on the kodak you have to go and connect the camera to the computer and delete clips via the computer you can not do it directly from the camera in the field.

Take my advice, get the Kodak zi8. I have both the zi6 and now the zi8, and it SMOKES the vado aswell as the flip and webbie. It shoot 720p ASWELL as 1080p 60fps. It is the best pocket HD camera out. Trust me on this.

Hello, I always shoot in HD+ mode. I use a monopod when possible to help keep it stable. I used to edit in Pinnacle Studio 12 but I recently learned of a x264 codec that allows the Vado HD videos to be opened with Adobe Premiere and perhaps other video editing apps.

The low light performance with the Vado HD is ok, but I still find it a little lacking. However, out of the small pocket cams available it is more than likely the best choice.

Looks fantastic i was thinking about getting it but i like to add intros and put music over my videos in windows movie maker before i upload them to youtube and the kodak zi6 videos have to be converted before u can add them into movie maker and they loose quality that way , is this one the same ?

Hello. I am not sure why you are having issues watching the HD video. It usually has to buffer a little bit before it plays. How are other HD videos that you have seen?

Thank you LACrimeGuy! If you upload a video in the resolution of 1280x720 in should give users the option to see it in HD. It usually takes a while before you see it offered though. The low quality usually appears an hour or so before the HD one.
