  • now take it apart :P

  • the next NFS... virtual NFS...

  • i learned physics from this video!!!

  • 3:05 DRIFT

  • how the heck did you get all those pieces it looks awesome

  • wow that was graet i wont more

  • That silver car driver is wreckless xD

  • the second u started the on car footage i was amazed...then you had to pass under a bridge. i fear my predictions are true and the camera fell off or something, am i rite?

  • @DatBossTV Yes you're not far off - Those bridges barely have enough space under them for a car, let alone a video camera, so you'll notice that all the in-car footage stops just before bridges! I don't think the camera fell off but it did hit the bridges quite hard a few times as it's not easy to slow down when there's a heavy video camera on top.

  • At 1:33 I was depressed, but then at 1:37 I was like "WOOAA!!"

Nice video man, you're an inspiration to us all!

  • WOOW! amazing video, amazing track, amazing mmusic IT'S ALL AMAZING! **

  • hahahaha this video is awesome :D

  • At first of video, you must be put a clock.... XD

  • So did you just build off of imagination? Or was this track pre-designed on some computer?

I've got about six - eight boxes of track total; five - seven of which are all used classic track, and very inexpensive... but a bit warped and corroded.

By the way, what did you use to film on-board the cars? I've been thinking about attaching a GoPro via adhesive mount, but I'm worried about the center of gravity being messed up, and the stability get ruined.

  • @Zoopersable Yes the layout was just designed as I went along - I had a rough idea in my mind at the start but it just evolved as I was building. Having the camera running the whole time focussed the mind! And the camera I used for the on-ride shots was just the same one I used for the rest of the footage - a Canon HF20 precariously strapped on top of a car. Very top heavy and it didn't drive well but the footage came out ok I think. A smaller camera would be much better I reckon.

  • @mtx499 Yeah, I think my GoPro is lighter than your camera, but It'l have to sit high on top of the car... If I put it on my Hemi 'Cuda, It'l roll over on EVERY bend! R.I.P. stability for me... ;)

  • The silver car has slick tires!!

  • That's a pretty cool track, technical and freakin' huge. Also, nice that the cars actually require some restraint to drive, unlike some where they're practically glued to the track and you can just mash the trigger the whole time.

  • how much did it cost?

  • @djorzech1313 Too much - I dare not add it all up!

  • be a real bummer if he finshed it and then his dad comes in and tells him to take it apart because he needed it

  • More parts and you need more voltage for cars to get the enough current.

  • @4damage Yeah, my first thought was wondering how much the voltage dropped at the farthest point from the power source.

  • very cool !!

  • awesome

  • wat kind of saddo wastes 2 hours of his life on Scalextric?

  • its funny cus if you have less than that, there boaring.

  • super cool vid!

  • I spy with my little eye - Roller coaster tycoon pinball machine!

  • You sir deserve a pat on the back. Nice job.

  • es muy bueno de los mejores que he visto

  • I hate this problem on 3:21 :(... this should not happen. Greetings from Germany

  • @jamumu lol

  • Like if you skipped to the end!

  • Crickey, it's the Mille Miglia!

  • that was awesome!

  • You Sir are a God.

  • i had 40meter one once also :)

  • The "in-car" footage is priceless.

Why, oh why did I ever give away my AFX slot car gear?! WHYYYY...!?

  • what is the name of the two songs???

    thanks!

  • @JulianYSusVideos The first piece (the ragtime piano music) is The Smiler by Percy Wenrich, and the second piece is from an album called "Music for a Film" by Daniel Bautista (which you can download for free from Jamendo.com).

  • @mtx499 Didn't they use that music in Bullseye?

  • @bumperboy It is kind of similar style but it's not the same - The Bullseye theme music was written by John Patrick. Google "Bullseye Theme Tune" and you should find it.

  • @napalm350z Just a normal video camera, a Canon HF20 held on top of a car with elastic bands and insulating tape - The car was a bit slow and top heavy but it still produced some good footage.

  • większe napięcie i bedą jechac o wiele szybciej ;]

  • This is so fucking cool im gonna go to toy's r us and buy all the scalextric trax there and put it in my living room.

  • Have you set up a permanent track somewhere in your home? Nice layout.

  • @faithfulcmm1972 Sadly no - It's all packed into a cupboard right now and only comes out once every year or two :-(

  • i'm on this side of youtube again.....

  • MUSIC GT5 XD

  • 1:35-1:45 POTATOCAM time! :D

  • Amazing.

  • likeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • Nooooo! I wanted the silver one to win!

  • Thumbs Up For Rugs

  • i have a totally random question

what is the name of the song playing in the background of the vid?

  • @BUICK925 The first piece (the ragtime piano music) is The Smiler by Percy Wenrich, and the second piece is called "Music for a Film" by Daniel Bautista (which you can download for free from Jamendo I think).

  • wow!! he took 4min. to do all that!! thats crazy man!

  • question? how did Misses thaugh about this idea?

I i even think of doing this i get shipped off to siberia ! ;-)

  • @ThePanzerWarMachine It's kinda chilly here in Siberia - Hopefully I'll be allowed home sometime soon ;-)

  • wow, i just got a 50 ft on and decided this is way better!

  • hhhhhhh that fun :)

  • I am so jealous.

  • NIce ending! i love how the red car stoped and the other lost controle

  • 3:38 Drift

  • This may seem like a dumb question to some, but how do the cars run on the same side? I'm used to the old TOMY Aurora AFX style, where if two cars were on the same side of track, they would be controlled by one controller.

  • @TheNewfrewelian It's a system called Scalextric Digital - Up to 6 cars can run on the track at once and it uses digital signals from the controllers to control the speed of each car. The crossover tracks mean you can swap lanes when you want to too. I've only once had all 6 cars running on a 2-lane track but it's great fun!

  • @mtx499 Thats pretty good! Do you need to set the signals on each car and controller?

  • @TheNewfrewelian It's been a while since I last did it but I think there's a menu option on the power base that sets up which car responds to which controller. You can also set up other parameters like acceleration and braking response for each individual car.

  • Sim City.

  • totally understand the fun in this but whats with the boring trains that people buy?

  • Nice!!! I recently aquired a couple of tracks and built myself one in the dining room, no where near as large as yours. I like your in car camera too :)

  • Proper Job!!!Good effort...

  • I dug this, and I've never been an extreme slot car fan. I liked the production quality. It was cool how you synced the emotive characteristic of the audio with the roll-over at the end. ; ]

  • @NightWolfVG there probly just rich and your just poor . you dont know if their parents hate them you can only make up such stories with your own life experience.

  • u got no life...

  • nice track man!

  • прикольно!

  • What kind of camera did you put on top of the car? I'm assuming that a GoPro would be too big.

  • @gopvifootball I used a standard HD video camera - a Canon HF20 plus wide angle lens, which is quite a large and heavy combination hence the accident at the end of the film! It was strapped on top of a car using elastic bands and insulating tape, and had to be driven very carefully as it was top-heavy.

  • its like the nurburgring of scalextric!

  • U parent's must hate you.....

  • kids these daysz.....

  • scalextric, pinball, a pool/snooker table - every thing a man could need!

  • This bring back memories when I was 7 back in the mid 90's

  • that must of cost alot!!!

  • i counted 199.9ft...

  • Please get yourself a girlfriend. You have way too much time on your hands.

  • really cool,,but i'd never run it on carpet,,cars pick up alot of crap plus static electricity

  • Awesome.Great music as well.

  • some kids nevers grows.

  • 4 people got sick on this ride.

  • You are what the modern day public would call a "Scalextrix geek"

  • awesome drift at 3:06 :)

  • Epic ending xDD But cool track :)

  • Boss track man! I love the first person footage!

  • what a gay scream at 2:32

  • @ReconSurfer 200ft of scalextric and all you can pick up on odd noise in music, shame on you!

  • ITS MASSIVE

  • thats so sick

  • Oh No! Red flag at 4:07!!! Was the driver ok?!

  • Wow, first rate video mate! How did you work out the track layout and what pieces you needed?

  • @justind71 Thanks! I designed the track layout as I went along, and having the camera rolling the whole time helped to focus the mind! There were some pieces left over though - Normally I'd try to use every last piece but it usually takes a bit of re-designing towards the end to get them all in and with the camera rolling I just wanted to complete the circuit.

  • 3:03

red car : epic drift!!!! oh yeah >:D

silver car : *sticks finger out the window* fvck yeah , Imma gonna screw you >:D

  • hey my comment from half a year ago is at the top! Cool!

  • wicked thats amazing how much did u spend was it over 3000

  • @badboydoyle Thanks! Not sure of the total cost, it was quite a lot. The credit card took a long time to recover ;-)

  • @mtx499 oh well great fun i love my scalextric

  • finally someone that can edit on youtube :D, great vid, and awesome track

  • awsom drift at 3:06

  • thats shit is boring as hell... get a fucking nitro rc car please.

  • An excellent way to waste an entire weekend! Couple of questions, did you have to install any jump leads to maintain power on such a long circuit, and do the digital single lane sections connect to normal sections of track? I have a standard analogue circuit comprised of a mixture of Sport and Classic track (well that's a slight lie what I currently have is a bit pile of track in the corner waiting to go in the loft!) and I want to use the single tracks to create a symmetrical split section.

  • @Mikeb1001 No jump leads used - There was a slight power drop-off at the far side of the circuit but the cars were still plenty fast enough! This was all brand new track though so I don't know whether that makes a difference - The joints on older track might lose a bit more voltage than brand new clean track. And the single lane tracks do connect to any section of sport track (not classic track though), so you can split from a double-lane section to single lanes that diverge etc.

  • how dis you get the cam on the front of the car?

  • @evans10j It was just mounted on top of a car and held on by insulating tape and elastic bands - The car didn't drive as fast with all that weight on top and it was a bit top heavy (hence the accident at the end of the video) but it did the job!

  • that track is pretty epic! how did u show part of it from the cars view?

  • @xiJMANix Thanks! I mounted a camera on a car for the driver's eye views - All I did was use some insulating tape and elastic bands to strap it to the top of a car and then ran the car around (carefully, as it was top heavy, hence the accident at the end...)

  • @mtx499 Sounds good! gotta try that some time

  • aah child at heart ^_^ :D

  • weekend well spent!!!!

  • hello again, was that just a randomly made track, like you just made it up as you went?

  • @MrIliff Yes I just made it up as I went along - I enjoy a challenge! As you can see, I had quite a few bits of track left over (mostly banked curves) and usually I would have spent a while trying to fit them in somehow but as I was filming I thought I'd better just finish the track as quickly as possible.

  • How much did all that cost you? ;o

  • @TheSnakeyBlakey Everyone keeps asking but I dare not add it all up - It was rather a lot though.

  • @mtx499 haha, i bet it was alot! Thank you for the reply.

  • at 3:02 the cars say fuck you!!!

  • where did you get all track?

  • @TheDucky399 eBay! It was all new track not used so it wasn't particularly cheap. Great fun setting it all up though.

  • cool track!

  • My knees were hurting just watching you build that, very impressive though!!

  • @mtx499 Hi, great track, it kind of resembles how my addiction to Scalextric is starting to get, each week I buy more track!. Now I just wanted to ask what type of Camera did you use to mount on the Car?, I was thinking of doing this myself the other day actually, and I saw this today just by chance. Thanks.

  • @MrIliff Thanks :-) The camera is just a Canon Legria HF20 strapped onto the top of a car chassis using elastic bands and insulating tape - It's a bit top heavy (hence the crash at the end of the video) and the weight slows the car down but it produced some reasonable footage.

  • wow wow WOW!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Holy Crap mann this is amazin how much did u spend on all the pieces ?

  • @BeeZoLadd Far too much!

  • @mtx499 wish i had enough room, might do in the living room, if i take out the sofa's

  • Amazing. I want one.

  • how do you get the clip where the video is car height?

  • @donkey456789123 The video camera was mounted on top of a car using elastic bands and insulating tape - It wasn't a complete success due to the weight of the camera slowing the car down (and the size meant it wouldn't fit under bridges), but it still produced some good footage.

  • @mtx499 thanks

  • kwl music great stuff! =)

  • nice great work ;)

  • @mtx499 thanks for fast answer :)

  • How many powersupplys did you use?

Im gonna set up 70 meters (230 ft) tracks, do i need more than 2x 16volts 13 amphere powersupplys?

  • @animatorSimen I used one digital power base with 2 power supplies plugged into it - The power does drop off slightly towards the far side of the circuit but it's not too noticeable. I once built a slightly longer circuit using all the track I have (around 220ft) and didn't have any power problems, even with all 6 cars running, so I expect you'd be ok, as long as the track is in good condition so it doesn't lose too much power between each track joint.

  • How much did all that cost

  • i have one classic set still runs good but all i need is a new car magnit im making a new video tomoz stop bye and look and the track is 24 hr lemans

  • who's the guitar piece by its cool?

  • @AdrianWoodward71 It's by Daniel Bautista, taken from his free album "Music for a Film".

  • Does anybody know the first musical theme, on piano ? thx :)

  • @k0zmicpearl It's called "The Smiler", written by Percy Wenrich in 1907.

  • how long hav u been collecting

  • YOU GUYS ROCK< THIS WAS REALLY EXCITING TO WATCH, So funny XD

  • What camera did you use for the onboard set-up? Nice layout :)

  • @MiniOneSam Thanks! I used a Canon HF20 for the whole video (include the onboard shots).

  • @mtx499 Oh cool! Thanks for the reply...just a bit of velcro was it?

  • @MiniOneSam Nearly - I used insulation tape!

  • Awesome!!!!!!!

    I'm your new best friend!

I'm saving up to improve my current digital track

  • 3:24 slow mo drift lol

  • how much did that cost?

  • @girbil2 Far too much, I dare not add it all up!

  • @mtx499 C'mon how much????

  • OMFG.

  • Nice RollerCoaster Tycoon Pinball machine.

  • @machexster Good grief - You must have great eyesight to notice that!!!

  • great track and video :) can I ask what power pack you running it on?? and did you have to use booster cables to reach the furthest parts cheers neil

  • @wilkiny74 Thanks! I got away without having to put any jumper cables in - I used a C7030 power base with 2 power supplies, and although the cars do run slightly slower the further they are from the power they still run easily quick enough! The only problem I had was when doing the "drivers eye" filming by strapping a video camera onto a car chassis - With the extra weight of the camera the cars couldn't get enough power to move at all at the far side of the circuit!

  • hey do u know what goes faster; a road car (aston martin ect.) or an f1 car. idk what to buy

  • @cas123321 I've only got road cars on my track (Audi TT's and Porsche Boxsters) but I'm guessing the F1 cars would be slightly faster as the car body would be smaller and lighter?

  • @mtx499 ah ok thanks :D

  • @cas123321 f1 cars are a lot faster its hard to keep them on the track

  • @goonerneil1981 they would breAk really easily

  • dedication

  • you should make a mini nuremburg track and then get a few mercs and a BMW and race them

  • ok i want to try
