im a paintball "sniper" and there is one problem with your flush out strategy. this will work on an amature sniper but anyone with expireience will know to examen his surroundings before he takes the shot. when he takes the shot the other team may use your strategy but you see the entire team move right and one guy go left. u see that one guy and the sniper decides not to move. to be a sniper you have to have patience and eventualy the one guy will move and you can take him out.

if you are going to snipe you need to fire at least a pair of shots if not a 3-5 round burst to ensure that you actually get a break. if you dont hit the guy AND get a break with that many shots you either need to put your gun down and leave the field, move up and play mid, or get a real paintball gun not whatever cheap piece you are using.
@7774bruins i would say get a vl orion with a longer barrel re paint the gun and ramp the velocity up because the gun is only around 60-100 bucks doesn't have all this advanced techno crap that doesnt help most guns. its very simple so you wont miss fire unless firing faster than 5 balls a second the only down fall i find with it is that it doesnt have eyes to see if there is a ball in the chamber and without a potted barrel it can be a little loud other than that its a great gun
your gun is chronoed at the edge do the barrel. uyou get more range. the longer the barrel, the longer a the ball is in the barrel, more gas is used, this extra gas causes balls to prematurely break with longer barrels. i would say 12 inch is best. when the extra gas pushes to the edge of the barrel, the gun is chrono'd to around 275-285 is optimal f/ps setting and note that at both 12 in and 16 in barrel, ball comes out at 280 fps. every 1 in of barrel = 1 inch of range to your shot

I love Woodsball!!! Played Sunday and messed everyone up!! Used my Tippmann A-5 with Flatline Barrel and 4 position stock and a Stabilizer and a Egrip!!! Took out atlest 4 players every game and their was always 5 on each team!!!
just so you know the reason a paintbal probably didnt come out of that a5 is because it was low air. it usually wont cycle if its extremely low on air.
this guille flush would work great for an over aggresive sniper. on our team we have 2 pairs of snipers recon and flankers. their only goal is to cause chaos not chase down anyone. we only fire a max of 2 shots per hide. and one covers while the others move. its easy to catch mid player and front players in kill boxes if your snipers are patient. once the other team commits to the attack its easy to take them out from the sides and flanks

Definatly playing back field is better in objective based games. like CTF or some thing. because if you gave to get into the enemy camp to win. you might actualy see some action im more of a mid front player personaly.

I've nailed several ghillie suits only to find their on my team its the like the plague especially when they get bored with their chosen role and run up and down the field

The Rap4 riffled barrel with that is deceptively very accurate for such a cheap costing barrel I have a dye altra light and stiffy nether of witch shoot as good as the rap4 riffled barrel. several of our group have switched over to pump from Autocokers my one friend has a fully upgraded Azodin kp with reg and that barrel combo i recommended and his marker shoots lasers its literally as accurate as a dm9
Assuming the ghillie guy wasnt blind, and saw the mid guy hide, youre screwed. And if he did count right, he wouldnt move if he had more than 2 IQ points. This is good advice, but the role of a sniper is generally to defend a portion of the field, not to hunt down people like the people he is defending from. Just something to think about.

this is my sniper load out... don't underestimate, 21 two piece cp barrel, gravity feed hopper, bipod, ghillie suit, sniper scope zeroed and mounted by a marine sniper at camp pendelton (my friend's dad is a gunny sgt. in the USMC and has sniper friends pretty sick hook up) i usually make 2 green smooke grenades with potasium nitrate and that is my sniper loade out, oh ya and i painted it desert camo dead accuate i know everybody says tippmann 98 suck well they do but when you wnt 2 snipe it A+

Had my first paintball experience on 22 acres of wooded property in Alberta, six players, one "medic" (too young to play). Now I am "hooked"! one shot kills are super satisfying, but I don't try for them anymore because its too depressing when the ball bounces, curves off target or chops in the barrel.
@xpaullettax also by modifing the marker to acept the tibirous magizines but i wouldnt recommend that cuz if u mess up u'll be losing over 500$ and cuz u'll have a stick thing sticking out the side
Personally i think you counter ghillie suit stratagy is flawed....in actual fairness i would have owned your whole team because a well organized team would make use of 2 snipers which would be radio linked. continuously assessing every situatuion and a good sniper would have read the situation and known how many people were walking towards him and which direction they were all facing before taking the first shot.......
Commando ghillie suits are the bomb in big games tho. Kind of defeats the purpose of having a sniper gun but its fun to rush in woodland camo and gear.
i have an a5 for a sniper, the cyclone has always fed a ball. i have never pulled the trigger and had no ball come out unless the hopper is empty. ive had the gun for like 5 years. its a great gun!

A Sniper should never stay in one spot. A sniper should always have a spotter. If you know the tactics of the position "sniper" then that person is an effective part of any team. When the Sniper works with his team the flush out will not work because the counter sniper could face a squad from the other team. On the contrary the team will be focused on the sniper while the rest of the snipers team flanks. A well trained team with a sniper can be very effective.

I was playing a pretty big game of woodsball two days ago (40 vs 40), and I had my camo on (haven't got a decent ghillie suit), and 3 of my friends where guarding our back woods behind our base, and we had myself and two of my other teammates with me a couple yards in front of them. We here all three of them yell out and we immediatley lay down in some leaves, with our camo on, so the guy can't see us. He comes around the corner and I took him out so bad lol
ha.. even for sniping you need a pretty fast gun because if they find you your not just gunna BOOM........BOOM.......BOOM.. your gunna wanna go badadadadadadadadadadad lol :))
I use my Alpha black tactical with a 50 round hopper, bipod, and usually an acog scope. I've never had a problem with it aka never chops balls, accurate even with the 11 inch stock barrel, and doesnt have a specific sound to it. Whenever I've had the option of doing the "one-shot-one kill" I've had success. btw i use a 16" barrel.

@Hyperguy11 If you get a flatline, you want thick shell woodsball paint so it dosent break in the barrel, but then it drastically reduce your chance of a break on the guy.
I use procaps on my flatline and its fine but as far as an Apex i dont like the idea of my paintball bouncing off a rubber bumper i have never used an Apex but if paint is going to break its more likely going to break in an Apex
Really, it would totally seem like the Apex would break more than the Flatline, but really thats far from the truth. Before I bought my Apex, I did a poll on Milsim Empire to see if people preferred the Flatline over the Apex or visa versa. There was a unanimous decision that the Apex was better, so I got it, and it turns out it actually is. Yeah, they both aren't perfect, but I actually can get better prefomance out of the Apex. Doesnt surprise me since the creator of the Flatline made the Apex
Hmm i didnt know the Apex was made by the guy who created the flatline but i guess the apex is more popular because of the ammount of markers that can use it but regardless they both do the same thing the only diffrence is that with an Apex you got to point your barrel in the air a little bit to get the same affect as the flatline
Mike, at the field I go to their is a city field with a base on either side. The last two guys were camping in their base. After a narrow escape of being shot finding them. I realized I did not load my gun again before the game and I ended up tapping them out

you can really use "speedball markers" cause you cannot aim as well. really a tippmann 98 is fine for the role.

one shot kills are super satisfying, but I don't try for them anymore because its too depressing when the ball bounces, curves off target or chops in the barrel.

i like to use the first strike rounds with a 4x32 scope on a tippmann 98c
i been using this set up for over a year
now learned to get that "one shot kill" thing

what if the ghillie guy doesn't move?
I play sniper/defense alot, seeing as I don't actually have a ghillie suit, i just find real thick cover.
If I only get one guy the whole game, it's cause i stay hidden in a good spot.
Just so this doesn't happen.
what happens if I'm attacking and the guy doen't move, or actually counts right, and knows the mid guy just hid in those bushes over there?

Personally i think you counter ghillie suit stratagy is flawed....in actual fairness i would have owned your whole team because a well organized team would make use of 2 snipers which would be radio linked. continuously assessing every situatuion and a good sniper would have read the situation and known how many people were walking towards him and which direction they were all facing before taking the first shot.......

Commando ghillie suits are the bomb in big games tho. Kind of defeats the purpose of having a sniper gun but its fun to rush in woodland camo and gear.

i have an a5 for a sniper, the cyclone has always fed a ball. i have never pulled the trigger and had no ball come out unless the hopper is empty. ive had the gun for like 5 years. its a great gun!

A Sniper should never stay in one spot. A sniper should always have a spotter. If you know the tactics of the position "sniper" then that person is an effective part of any team. When the Sniper works with his team the flush out will not work because the counter sniper could face a squad from the other team. On the contrary the team will be focused on the sniper while the rest of the snipers team flanks. A well trained team with a sniper can be very effective.

Just gotta say, there's a difference between some dip shit who sits at they're own base waiting for nothing and as Special Ops calls a ghost flanker. A good stealthy flaker can fuck a team up. But most people who call themselves snipers are just wannabe stealthy people. Takes some one with brains and understanging to actually be a good "sniper."

I was playing a pretty big game of woodsball two days ago (40 vs 40), and I had my camo on (haven't got a decent ghillie suit), and 3 of my friends where guarding our back woods behind our base, and we had myself and two of my other teammates with me a couple yards in front of them. We here all three of them yell out and we immediatley lay down in some leaves, with our camo on, so the guy can't see us. He comes around the corner and I took him out so bad lol

I use my Alpha black tactical with a 50 round hopper, bipod, and usually an acog scope. I've never had a problem with it aka never chops balls, accurate even with the 11 inch stock barrel, and doesnt have a specific sound to it. Whenever I've had the option of doing the "one-shot-one kill" I've had success. btw i use a 16" barrel.

Flatlines are notorious for breaking paint in the barrel and being picky on paint. thats why I got the Apex on my A-5.

I use procaps on my flatline and its fine but as far as an Apex i dont like the idea of my paintball bouncing off a rubber bumper i have never used an Apex but if paint is going to break its more likely going to break in an Apex

Really, it would totally seem like the Apex would break more than the Flatline, but really thats far from the truth. Before I bought my Apex, I did a poll on Milsim Empire to see if people preferred the Flatline over the Apex or visa versa. There was a unanimous decision that the Apex was better, so I got it, and it turns out it actually is. Yeah, they both aren't perfect, but I actually can get better prefomance out of the Apex. Doesnt surprise me since the creator of the Flatline made the Apex

Hmm i didnt know the Apex was made by the guy who created the flatline but i guess the apex is more popular because of the ammount of markers that can use it but regardless they both do the same thing the only diffrence is that with an Apex you got to point your barrel in the air a little bit to get the same affect as the flatline

Mike, at the field I go to their is a city field with a base on either side. The last two guys were camping in their base. After a narrow escape of being shot finding them. I realized I did not load my gun again before the game and I ended up tapping them out
