It is a traditional Gypsy song, and it was arranged in its present form by Goran Bregovic, a Bosnian legend and leader of the Bosnian rock n roll group Bijelo Dugme. It has nothing to do with Serbia. If you said it was from Yugoslavia I'd have zero issue; but assigning the song to Serbia is like assigning Nikola Tesla to the United States. Just because Serbia loves something doesn't make it Serbian. Get that clear.

@fgschneider1970 Yes, the cardas styles and the haunting laments are very much a form of Romany music, and this kind of fits in both categories. For new age concepts of man not being afraid to cry, at their parties a feature is playing the lamentations, during which disputes are resolved, men cry (and senior women) and by showing respect in such fashions they apologiese to each other and resolve current disputes.

If its not done right, it can cause MAJOR trouble!!!!
