Obama should follow the Constitution. He needs to listen to Ron Paul, Peter Schiff and Jim Rogers and others who predicted the housing collapse and the current recession and are saying that the Federal Reserve needs to be abolished and that stimulus packages and bailouts are only going to make the economy worse. Obama instead chooses to be advised by the people who were wrong. That doesn't make any sense to me.

However, I think the appointment of Clinton has rather tainted his "change" brand before he's even opened up the shop - and his deafening silence over Gaza is more than just a bit worrying.

I think he is being very tactical about the gaza crisis. He dosent want to open up questions of -whether he is supporting israel or the end to the conflict(which will be percieved as an opposition to Israels actions). I guess depending on Israels links and the lobby set up in us government background- an american president can not voice against them.But then where is the change. Obama and his administration will hopefully be the intelligent, diplomatic rational thinkers that they seem to be. I hope that they will resolve the War on Terrorism the way that it SHOULD have been done in the first place: Diplomacy and Negotiating.
However, the national debt is out of their control. Not many people understand how much money THREE HUNDRED TRILLION DOLLARS is. At the rate we're going right now, i doubt that even I will live to see the end of this debt.

you make some good points. i'd like to believe obama will try to make things better and not just take advantage of his position, but you're right that he wont make too much of a change... there's too much crap going on and he doesnt have the resources to fix everything. you're completely right, the people need to make the change. but people are innately lazy and will take the easiest route nearly every time... i doubt we will see much, if any, change.

Actually it wasn't a pyramid scheme - You've been double blinded. All such investment funds are going under. These guys decided to fold early before 1000s crashed, miss the boat and claim it was a pyramid scheme so that the investors will get a % bail-out by the government. In terms of a business decision they made the best one - So they destroyed paper work and made what was a failed business from bad investment decisions look like a pyramid scheme to bail-out the clients.

Last time i remember, in the clinton administration, we had an 80 billion dollar surplus now its a 12 trillion deficit, so go do the math. This moment of economic turmoil is not the time to be experimenting with new and inexperienced guys, that's why he is bringing in very experienced people who happen to be geniuses like Geithner, Volcker and Summers, you can call them clinton people (volcker was treaury secetary in the late 70's and 80's) but truth is they know how to get us out of this mess.
