  • happy. Insult,s were flying. Also a brilliant sketch, one of the first appearence´s of a young Alan Cumming with partner ,singing "Marks and Spencers".Hilarious."You are my world" Live and newly presented song by, The Communards. I seem to remember interviews that were held in bed,Tom Jones being one and various other´s. This idea has been copied many times after. Cameo,"Word Up" Interview .Various interview.s from Tim Westwood,Ice T inclued. This tape is more than 2 hours long a real 80´s gem.

  • @samilliw1 would it be ok if i could have a copy of the handwritten tape you have called the best of night network please ?

  • I am in the process of cleaning one of my old vhs video tapes covered in mold, this is a very slow process. Handwritten title, "THE BEST OF NIGHT NETWORK" . I know and remember that on this tape, are gems such as Boy George in interview blatantly lieing about being on drugs.A young Wil Downing, singing "Wishing on a Star" with Lee John, breaking into backing vocal, he was presenting at the time . Gary Glitter in Interview, where somthing had happened off stage before hand and people were not..

  • If the night network was still running the day the simpsons would make a great segment.

  • always loved the way it said for one day only! I think i saw this episode! this show was awesome!

  • i used to stay up and secretly watch this in my bedroom after my parents had gone to bed when i was 13/14/15

i was supposed to be asleep but i had to watch 'Night Network'

this should come back as it was a bit of everything in a package and was brilliant!

  • the first through the night programme was by central and yorkshire in 1987 .because back than yorkshire and music box used to provide shows for each other . this is accoreding to wikipedia just type in yorkshire. central started a strand in 1987 called more in 1987 central used to show jobfinder pages at 3am until 6am. later it was changed to even more .this was in 1988 but it started in 1987

  • thanks so much for posting this brings back memories of staying up all night then going to work at the crack of dawn. Used to love watching video view the guests were so tough on the vids! remeber the section that was called "the bunker show" had Roland Rivron as the host getting wasted in a mock up bunker with guests? I was in the anglia region and was gutted when it was pulled. Even wrote the Thames asking if there bottle caps form the studio were up for grabs!!

  • Does anyone have the edition with Big Audio Dynamite on it???

  • yes i have

  • @pokemon169

You have the episode with Big Audio Dynamite on it? If so PLEASE post it. I was mad on them and taped EVERYTHING that featured them on TV UNTIL I lent the tape to someone who lost it. Gutted.

  • Still got videos of Pere UBU and Thurston from Sonic youth reviewing Pixies and Yello videos

Plus fishbone getting a little fruity

  • Ithink this must have been one of the first through the night programmes

  • I remember this from my youth, it was the only thing worth watching

  • i remeber in 1988/89 in granada. when night time used to show night network every night at about 2.00 and finish between 4.00 - 4.30

  • welshguy28 is absolutely right.

Around this time, TVS had started Late Night Late with Graham Rogers, David Vickery and Laura Penn. It was only on for part of the week but by the time Night Network ended, it was on the air throughout the week.

Your announcer at the start is the one and only Trish Bertram.

  • Night Network was (I think) a strand of programming from LWT for Friday/Saturday nights before 24 hour TV launched across the network. Taken by HTV, Anglia, TVS, TSW, Central and Border at least

  • It was also on Tyne Tees and, I think, on Yorkshire also.
