I slightly prefer Alexandra's tone. Alex has more power and intensity than Leona, she has better lows and better belts from C5 to F5, and her tone is more soulful and emotional. Leona has an amazing voice too, she has more technique and range and she has also a better head voice register and a better vibrato.

i dont think these two artists should be compared, on one hand we have leona lewis who is simply one of the greatest artists and singers this country has ever produced and her live performances are beautiful and effortless. And onthe other hand we have Alexandra Burke who has a wicked personality but can hold beautiful and strong sustained notes but cant quite hit leona's high notes, yet has such a powerhouse voice. Both amazing artists, it just happens to be that Leona has cracked America!!

alexandra burke is more of an all rounder, leona has an annoying voice and no personality, wheres alexandra has a proper soulful voice and has the uptempo stuff down to a tee. they're different and both amazing singers but, alex gets my vote :D x

If you ask me I think the UK has overhyped Leona, which amuses me because I've heard better.

Alex and Leona are two different singers, but they are in no way in two different leagues. It's just a matter of preference. I'd listen to both their CDs, but I would only go see Alex live in concert. My attention span is too short to indulge Leona live...
