this is not "elegua" nor "elegba" of yorubaland nor "legba" of vodun. this mask is called "zangbeto" of the vodun tradition and is found where dahomean peoples live (benin republic, badagry along the coast of nigeria, and lagos) and that speak any number of the -Gbe languages. they are neighbors to the yoruba.

Thanks for this important info. It's easy to see how one (including myself) would mistake this for Elegba. The spinning grass dome makes the figure look big, but when he is uncovered he is small, as if a trick is being played. Also, the figure's face is half black and half white.

eso se llama zangbeto. se encuentra en tierras dahomeyanas (lagos, badagry que queda en la costa de nigeria, republica de benin, etc.)entre los que hablan varios dialects de los idiomas Gbe.
