McG is a good director but I think he is a bit to testostarone driven compared to Cameron Michael Bays directing for transformors worked because the story Really required it, seince it was somewhat silly especally ROTF, which I enjoyed.

Why is it that when a franchise like Transformers already has a built in audience, instead of going for broke, and trying to do the popcorn version of 2001: A Space Odyssey, and blow people's minds, they just put out the same thing? You'd think a director would be like: "Those fools! They'll lap up anything I'll do. Now I can make my bid for immortality!"

In response to Salsaman's comment, it's not just that, it's the advertisement, the media, if you notice, I'd say 90 percent of the time, movies that are widely advertised as "the best movie" etc' are the worst disappointment. It's the advertisement that fools us into watching them. By the time the word spreads about how bad the movie is, a lot of people already watch it at least once, and that's enough for them to make the profit they need.

its the new trend in movie making these days. film makers know that people are still going to see movies regardless of their quality to "shut off their brain". they figure why break our backs to make a quality big blockbuster when we can just half-ass it make a decent profit. they're just lowering the risk factor.
