I too remember this movie as a Kid. Issac used to Scare me SO much! Back in the Days with Few special effects this movie used the actors to there fullest abilities coupled with a Creepy setting it really sent chills up my spine! Not to mention Issac and Malachi 's Acting makes the Characters all the more believeable.

According to *Wikipedia*, John Franklin (John Paul Salapatek) who plays the heavy Isaac, was born in 1959! He was 24 when this movie was made? They couldn't find a competent child actor? I guess it is rather creepy to have a young man that age play a kid. Hollywood has a long history of casting kids too old for their parts, but this is ridiculous!

@RunoGruno I'm sorry, but the re-make was absolutely horrible. The acting was bad, and I don't seem to remember a guy and girl having sex, in the church, in front of EVERYONE, in the original film. The producers and writers probably thought "Ohh all the modern movies now have sex scenes in them. Let's put one in this movie!" It was unnecessary and had nothing to do with the original story. This movie is my favorite movie of all time. The re-make did not do it justice whatsoever.

Therefore the 2009 version doesn't count as a remake. It's ok to say you like Fritz Kiersch's version better than Stephen King's version.
