Issue is that Mexicans can not have our childrens jobs they need to start some where too. Those adults undocumented or not need to retreat back to Mexico because they are not wanted or needed because our country is in a recession. The Welfare state equals mexican immigrants meaning more tax dollars to them.
I guess if these immigrants are willing to work for less then minimum wage doing that kind of work they must be really desperate and deserve that chance. Now it is becoming more complicated. We have skilled Americans doing the same work while Hispanic immigrants are getting somewhere through affirmative action.

Then, however, will the American consumer be willing to pay twice as much for their fruits and vegetables? Legal workers in California would have to be paid minimum wage, $8/hour. Also, as an employer, I can tell you that when I pay an employee $8/hour, it actually costs me over $10/hour. Immigrant workers in the fields are currently getting between $2 and $4/hour.

- free health care
- free K-12 education for their anchor babies
- free food stamps for their anchor babies
- free federal welfare checks for their anchor babies

- EIC (Earned Income Tax credits up to $4,200/year)
- Low income housing subsidies (Sec. 8)
