  • Hi Matthew, thank you for sharing. Yes, finally sleeping made a huge difference in my life. Sleep issues are such a big part of fibromyalgia. I have to credit my doctor for helping come up with a regimen that helped with the sleep issues. I take a migraine preventive, since I'm plagued with migraines. It was actually the migraine medication, taken at night, that helped with the sleep stuff. Hey, whatever works, right?

  • I find that if I don't sleep then I get more pain then anything.. and cannot function when I volunteer at my church (3-4 day a week)

  • I'd really like to know the exact cause of fibromyalgia. All these theories just confuse me and are not helpful.

  • That's my dad singing. I love this song of theirs...

  • I also have fibro and migraines. How come doctors love to push Lyrica & Cymbalta at us. I was taking both at the same time and finally stopped the Lyrica but Cymbalta has helped ALOT with my migraines but did nothing for my fibro, I still cant find anything to help with that, muscle relaxers do nothing, sometimes ibprofen might help but I try not to take that too often or it makes things worse. Life with Migraines and Fibro just isnt fair, and boy do I know morning stiffness. Love your Vids!

  • Hi Carmen! Thanks so much for your comment! Sorry for the delay in responding. It's been a rather crazy summer. Lots of stuff going on. Nice to meet another migraineur. (OK, sorry that you get migraines, too, but surprisingly, I don't meet that many other folks that also have fibro and migraines!) Lyrica just made me fat! Glad Cymbalta is providing you relief. Hey, anything that helps, right? Doctors push the designer drugs (lyrica, cym.) as they get a lot of pressure to do so. - D.

  • Everything you express is my life, i did chuckle as my laptop follows me where ever i go, but on a more serious side ty for posting, because this morning i woke up in tears, u know how we go in our thoughts, am i mad , am i imagining all this , is it really this awful or am i being lazy. i have just had my 5 op in a year and half and recovery seems harder each time.

    Bless you Locksy x

  • Hi Locksy! You are definitely not mad. It is so hard to wake up like you did this morning, and be in tears. It is really awful sometimes, and there is nothing lazy about you. Give your body time to heal and recover, and do whatever you need to do in order to get through each day. I find that diet has more effect on how I feel than anything else, (although it takes 24 - 28 hours to see the impact of a food you eat on your fibromyalgia/body stiffness. A food journal is essential.) :) - D.

  • Wow! your experience/decision about pain-killers is giving pause-for-thought about the subject.(will discuss with Dr as well)

I only take Paracetamol-for pain(it barely takes the edge-off)so it wouldn't be much of a sacrifice. Am going to try water-therapy/swimming(useless swimmer!) since I hate the gym!(soooo boring!)haven't really given diet a decent try yet....

Anyhow, keep doing what you're doing,THANK YOU! :)

  • Hi Moob! You are so welcome! Well, I can't claim credit for the wisdom on the painkillers. It is just something I have read several times. The most recent time was in an article in last month's "Neurology Now." (It is a free magazine that is always put out at my neurologist's office.) The article talked about why painkillers don't work as a solution for people with migraines. SInce I get migraines, well, I read every article I can on the topic. the logic made sense. Thanks for writing! -D

  • Thank goodness you are able to explain to others what Ive tried to explain; Im sharing this with my family and friends in the hope they will get a clue that I am not the only one that feels this way.

  • Teresa- I'm glad this video is helpful to you. After it took me SO long just to roll over yesterday morning, and then I STILL couldn't get out of bed, well, I figured it was worth blogging over. I was glad my first-grader was there to give me a good SHOVE to get me out of bed. But, I did feel like a crickety 90-year old instead of a physically-fit 40-year old. Fibromyalgia is such a weird disease. Later in the day, my muscles could move again, and I went to the gym. Fibro is sooo weird!
