John Brown and Nat Turner belong in the same category...both represented great ideas and movements but Brown and Turner were also both lunatics. Plus Turner killed children and John Brown killed innocent people. It does make a difference how you go about doing things. The ends do not justify the means.
Yeah i went to Harpers Ferry Job Corp. I was taking Carpentry as my trade back in 2009. We were building the Gallow for about a couple weeks. On December 2nd Carpentry and all the hard trades at the center went out to the courthouse and then walked to the site where John Brown was hung. You cant see the Carpentry crew because when the camera zooms out where all the way on the left. but yeah i helped built that Gallow when i was at Hapers Ferry. loved the history i learned!
@jermoda1 I was a County Commissioner when that occurred. I was on the committee at Job Corps. I proposed having the gallows built for the 150th. It worked and I'm really glad you learned from making it. Thanks

This reenactment looks to be well done.He was part of the Al-Queda of his time. He was a religious fanatic and murderer who got what he deserved.

I hate to be disputacious - I greatly admire the fighting men in the CSA.
