Hey it's 2:30 in the morning and I woke up and am laying here on the bed in pain with a bad back, but I am stoned and this song is playing, so everything is good for now :)
Indeed most of the work is Blofeld. The beat and "metronomic" parts are Maschine and sound was beefed up by Cubase 3 (EQ, compressors, etc.). So, chords, melody, "sounds" and noises are by blofeld only. No other synths and no samples.
The blofeld is a great little synth, though it has it's issues. It has low volume output, meaning that you'll probably get some noise while recording.
I've got used to programming with 4 knobs, but one can attach a midi keyboard and program it to control the blofeld's different parameters, and voilla... You have a strong and cheap set-up, that 10 years ago would have cost you much much more ...

I'm a real fan of deep techno, with warm, groovy sounds :) And you just happen to make it in a very good way! You should send those tracks to Kontakt label ;P You're at the level of Gui Boratto!
"At the level of Gui Boratto" , well thanks ! That's a wonderful comment !
I tend to send out my stuff to different labels, but I'm bad at PR and such. That kind of activity takes up so much of your time, that you are left with no time for creating new music ... Do you have some tips for such activity ?
Not really. I myself don't send out too many demo's.. and basically, when you start out, you don't have to tend to go too high, rather try at smaller, but quality labels, instead of going directly to the bigger ones. The chance that you get a reply @ a smaller label is also a lot bigger.
Also, if you have a local record shop where you live, or if you know any labels physically, it's always better to go bring them a CD :)
You've got a fine and recognizable style of music, I'm glad I found your channel.
Can you also drive your Waldorf Blofeld with the Maschine? I am thinking of a Maschine or a Korg Electribe myself, but I don't know yet what and when it's gonna be.
The Maschine is expensive as I would also need a new and faster Mac to have it run fine. But an Electribe can do so much less musically. On the other hand, I also have logic express to do my sequencing.
Technically you should be able to connect the Blofeld to the Maschine. Blofeld has midi in (and USB) and Maschine has midi in and out. Both do not have midi through.
There is a vid by KnockSquad (if I'm not mistaken) that shows how to connect the Maschine to another synth.
I did connect them via my Cubase, all through USB...
Anyway, I'm still not a big fan of maschine to be honest with you. Tell me if you wanna know why and I'll explain.
Hi,
Hope your back problems will resolve soon, be well !

This track is very nice mate. Love this chilled techno, and good to see what the Blofield can do. Found you from another Blofield chap Vinyljunkie07.

This. Song. Is. Awesome. Was this mostly Blofeld? I might have to change my opinion on that little guy... How's the programming with only 4 knobs?

why dont you like the maschine? can you jam live with maschine and blofeld? the track sounds great!
soggy28 1 year ago
@soggy28
Honestly - I got used to the Maschine by now.
The thing is that I use Cubase as a sequencer, now I have two running in parallel - the maschine's seq. and cubase.
Another issue is the sounds, for me - not good enough. I'm talking analog drum kits samples here.
Of course you can feed the maschine with other samples. That's what I'm doing lately..
Hope this helps.

Deep and relaxing stuff. Very good mix, everything is in its own place. I really like the bassline and the soft snare sound. 5/5.
