I was lucky enough to get to work with the howler monkeys in Mexico as a field assistant. They are lovely, interesting animals..but do sound very scary. The howls always gave me goosebumps..haha.

Tikal, Guatemala, end of Star Wars filmed here. Atop of Temple 4 Temple of the Jaguar. Point of view to the Central acropolis, Back in 92, I spent a full moon night on Temple Mundo Perdido which is to the right. We could see flashlights and laughing from our temple to where this is shot from, Europeans spending the night too.

The growling are howler monkeys or "asaraguates"

i went to the zoo yesterday. i used to love zoos till i got there. i HATE zoos. it's like putting animals into prison and staring at them. terrible! this is worse. destroying their homes :(
