Yep, unlike melee against a def noob, 70 range hits much more often on 40ish def than 40 attack does.and the 2h ko hits cuz of its bonus. Also, def noobs usually have pathetic hp levels, somewhere in the mid 40's, while range/2h pures have particularly high hp, in the low 60's. Your opponents health might be around 5 where as your health bar would look the same, except be around 14. It rivals mage in the way that it has a higher chance to ko the player rather than just wear them out with 16's.
