Shame on the French courts for arriving at this verdict! I want to know that when I fly the sirport has taken resoponsibility for ensuring the runway is clear of debris. What if a peice of garbage, a tree branch had blown onto the runway. My car wheels throw up material, this should have been designed into the Concorde, the possibility that something may be driven up into the underside of the plane, is this true of newer aircraft?

I don't believe that a plane that sophisticated can be struck down by a small piece of metal. Watch the video and it clearly indicates "dangerous weak points" and "structural fragilities" of the Concorde. Thank goodness they grounded the plane for good.

Just wondering why there was no passenger list made public here of the deceased victims? Every tragedy out there has a website where people could visit and express their condolences but not this tragedy? Seems odd to me? Considering all the families victims were well compensated after this mishap you'd at least figure one of them would have built a website for their fallen loved ones. Or were they all just dollars and cents in the eyes of their families? Pathetic and Sad!

Hull loss rate per flights is real way to see is airplane safe or not.

DC-10 was ok after design errors were fixed.

@Funfisique Shut up idiot, B737 has still better crash rate than A300, A310, Concorde, BAE 146/RJ100 and many other planes. Actually DC-10 has better crash rate than A310, based on airsafedotcom list.

Also B737 is much older than A320, Boeing 737 NG which is more near A320 has crash rate of 0.14.

@Funfisique And many old B737´s are operated in developing countries with bad aviation safety, in those countries accidents do happen more often. When A320 gets older they will be sold to those countries and probably their crash rate will go worse.
