I listened to Brandon's testimony last Springs from Focus on The family... Very inspiring on how he wrote this particular song. "I'm not who I was" - reflecting his experience with his family especially with regards to the step mom. Its about forgiveness and the letter he mailed typifies the one she sent to the step mom to let her know how much he loved her in spite of the past. I was touched.
To the Atheists, why not try surrending and see how you feel about faith in a God greater than you, your existence, and the universe. If you still don't believe, what do you have to lose except very possibly eternal life in Paradise! Believe it or not, kinda like Ripleys! Praying you take the plunge! ive always been a believer i grew up in a church and thought of myself as a good person and looked down at nonbelievers and thought how could God love them? but as my selfishness grew, i didnt realize i was drifting away from God. i judged my friends, and lied about reading my bible. the worst part was, i didnt even notice. i would always say "i used to be such a selfish person, but i'm not anymore." i need change plz pray 4 me. i hate living like this, but i dont have the courage to change
@Adzdachilla I personally have no problems with atheists that are respectful of others beliefs. I totally understand why someone wouldn't believe. I had a belief in god almost my entire life, but I didn't truly accept him until a couple years ago. Once I truly let him into my heart though, it has made me so much more than I ever thought I could be. Honestly, I'm thankful ( in a way) that it took me awhile to believe. because I understand what's it like to have doubts.
I was an Atheist. i did not believe that God existed. Tried to find the mechanism of exsistence through philosophy and physics. But I went to the Alter in desperation and I felt God physically, so that made me believe more. Been saved since 10/21/11. I now try to prove to other non believers that a God has to exist in order for this reality to stay together, it is simple metaphysics. I am a new man now!

It says, "in Him we live and move and have our being". I'm so aware of His love and presence each moment. I'm an old man now and it has been such a wondrous journey with Him. Every promise of God includes an 'intimacy clause'. verses: *In all your ways acknowledge Him* and He will direct your paths, *delight in the Lord* and he will give you the desires of your heart, *remain in me* and I'll remain in you. It's all about being still, being close. Be grateful for what you have and set aside a time to pray, read the word, and ask for the guidance that you need. I'll pray for you.

This song made me cry the first time I heard it. For so long I'd been struggling with the pain of someone who had hurt me and it was hard to forgive him. But hearing this song reminded me that God had changed me, and the old me was the one who would hold the grudge. I actually sat down and wrote this person a letter. It never got sent, but I was finally able to forgive. It's so good that God lets us wipe away the past and replace it with our future.

My parents were married for 14 year and my mom started to seperate. She pulled away and told my family that she wanted a divorce from my family. I prayed to pull my family back together and I struggled with my faith. But, God was there to help just like he is now. Not even a year later my parents were going out on dates again and when they got remarried I was given the honor of singing this song while my younger brother played his guitar :) I cried the whole time, grateful for my family.

My teacher is atheist, and he always plays music in class while we are silently working- strange rock music.Today, he played this song, and I was so surprised.. a Christian song? My other 3 teachers are all strong Christians and we had a speaker come in to talk to us about surviving the Holocaust, and when asked where her strength comes from, she told us about the Lord. My atheist teacher was crying. I pray for my teacher that God will transform his opinions and let him live a life for the Lord.

This song reminds me of how much things really do change as time goes by. It's amazing to me to look back at my life and see how many times God saved me from myself, and how much He has taught me and changed my heart over the years. God's grace has truly been the safety net that kept me from destroying myself through my own mistakes.

God takes the people who have hit rock bottom and brings them up to his level to change their lives and show the world that he take anyone's sins. There is no sin too great or too bad. There is no person too far gone to receive his mercy and forgiveness. He gives it out freely because he loves us so much!!!
God is so good, and forgiving. I fell out of His grace. I became a sex and porn addict. It tore apart my marriage and made me lose my daughter. I hit rock bottom...I reached up...and God grabbed my hand and pulled me free from my addiction. It was a hard struggle that took several months to overcome (sleepless nights, irritation, mood swings) but God kept his arm around me, and held me through those times. I've been free for just over a year now. I'm not who I was, because I am with God.
@matrix86 I to have struggled with a porn addiction and one day said to God I had had enough and to help me free myself from the need for such a addiction and the guilt and shame that came with it and God answered me and though I slip at times I don't have the desire to look at pornography and find it easier to just walk away. God does help and talks with us if we only take his hand and stop long enough to listen to hear him say he loves us and wants to make us happy.

A while ago, I was living far from God. One morning I woke up, hungover from the night before, and I thought to myself what have I been doing all this time? The guilt was too much, I struggled to open my Bible. Right to Isaiah 43:25. You know what it said? "I will not remember your sins."
1. we have to confess our sins to him, and the bible says in 1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"
2. when we ask him for forgiveness and TRULY repent he will not remember our sins because Psalm 103:12 says "As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us."
@pokemonlova99 He died on the cross for our sins, they are already forgiven. There is no need for repentance. The only reason to repent, is if you trully lose faith in Jesus. Love Him, put everything at His feet. He did it for you.

The Lord gave me these verses two days ago, I really think you should read them. Psalm 145: 8-9 and 14-18. Isaiah 43: 22-26. These last verses talk about how Israel got tired of serving God and deserted Him, but how the Lord is willing to reach out His hands and save them no matter what they have done.

When alcohol is more important than God in your life, something needs changing. What you said is very true and a lesson I learned at one time that we don't know others stories or circumstances and have no right to berate or judge others unless we are willing to have others judge us when they don't know our struggles. One of the major reasons for the mental issues people have is due to the fear of others judging or berating them. We need to love one another and forgive rather than tear people apart .

@amazingcna20. He is with you and He wants you as you are, not to change you but as you are. He didn't come for the well, he came to those who were hurting. One thing you also have to realize is that you have to keep believing he is going to deliver. He doesn't work on our schedules, but you, and I too also have to understand everything is working out as it is for now but will turn out beneficial to our lives later on.

Every promise of God includes an 'intimacy clause'. verses: *In all your ways acknowledge Him* and He will direct your paths, *delight in the Lord* and he will give you the desires of your heart, *remain in me* and I'll remain in you. This song made me cry the first time I heard it. For so long I'd been struggling with the pain of someone who had hurt me and it was hard to forgive him. But hearing this song reminded me that God had changed me, and the old me was the one who would hold the grudge. I actually sat down and wrote this person a letter. It never got sent, but I was finally able to forgive. It's so good that God lets us wipe away the past and replace it with our future.

My parents were married for 14 year and my mom started to seperate. She pulled away and told my family that she wanted a divorce from my family. I prayed to pull my family back together and I struggled with my faith. But, God was there to help just like he is now. Not even a year later my parents were going out on dates again and when they got remarried I was given the honor of singing this song while my younger brother played his guitar :) I cried the whole time, grateful for my family.

My teacher is atheist, and he always plays music in class while we are silently working- strange rock music.Today, he played this song, and I was so surprised.. a Christian song? My other 3 teachers are all strong Christians and we had a speaker come in to talk to us about surviving the Holocaust, and when asked where her strength comes from, she told us about the Lord. My atheist teacher was crying. I pray for my teacher that God will transform his opinions and let him live a life for the Lord.

This song reminds me of how much things really do change as time goes by. It's amazing to me to look back at my life and see how many times God saved me from myself, and how much He has taught me and changed my heart over the years. God's grace has truly been the safety net that kept me from destroying myself through my own mistakes.

God is so good, and forgiving. I fell out of His grace. I became a sex and porn addict. It tore apart my marriage and made me lose my daughter. I hit rock bottom...I reached up...and God grabbed my hand and pulled me free from my addiction. It was a hard struggle that took several months to overcome (sleepless nights, irritation, mood swings) but God kept his arm around me, and held me through those times. I've been free for just over a year now. I'm not who I was, because I am with God.

@matrix86 I to have struggled with a porn addiction and one day said to God I had had enough and to help me free myself from the need for such a addiction and the guilt and shame that came with it and God answered me and though I slip at times I don't have the desire to look at pornography and find it easier to just walk away. God does help and talks with us if we only take his hand and stop long enough to listen to hear him say he loves us and wants to make us happy.

1. we have to confess our sins to him, and the bible says in 1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"
2. when we ask him for forgiveness and TRULY repent he will not remember our sins because Psalm 103:12 says "As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us."

@pokemonlova99 He died on the cross for our sins, they are already forgiven. There is no need for repentance. The only reason to repent, is if you trully lose faith in Jesus. Love Him, put everything at His feet. He did it for you.

The Lord gave me these verses two days ago, I really think you should read them. Psalm 145: 8-9 and 14-18. Isaiah 43: 22-26. These last verses talk about how Israel got tired of serving God and deserted Him, but how the Lord is willing to reach out His hands and save them no matter what they have done.

It is worth remembering, however, that drinking in itself is not at all a sin; the sin is defined as when the alcohol becomes the priority over your life, over your life of dedication to God. When alcohol is more important than God in your life, something needs changing. But drinking in rejoice with God is perfectly Christian - take the drinking of the wine at the last supper, as an example.

What you said is very true and a lesson I learned at one time that we don't know others stories or circumstances and have no right to berate or judge others unless we are willing to have others judge us when they don't know our struggles. One of the major reasons for the mental issues people have is due to the fear of others judging or berating them. We need to love one another and forgive rather than tear people apart .

@amazingcna20. He is with you and He wants you as you are, not to change you but as you are. He didn't come for the well, he came to those who were hurting. One thing you also have to realize is that you have to keep believing he is going to deliver. He doesn't work on our schedules, but you, and I too also have to understand everything is working out as it is for now but will turn out beneficial to our lives later on.
