  • yeah :( alot of people lost there homes and i think it was during thanksgiving night? i dont remember but i remember it was like a holiday. oh yeah thanksgiving eve, i felt so bad :'(

  • a bunch of us guys were at the fire house in smithfield when we heard the call go out over the repeater. almost all NN trucks were there. one responded from York and Hampton. Another guy we talked to said he was having to check the runway for embers. It was pretty bad sounding over the radio.

  • I have some pretty clear footage I shot with my phone's video recorder. I took the shots from across I-64 in the Patrick Henry Mall parking lot.

  • yeah. york county hampton and newport news fire departments were called in. i was in the building right behind the fire before i got caught with my cameras cameras got damage when i feel running from the fire gust. but ill see if i can take the videos out of my hi 8mm cam

  • did you see where the fire started?

  • i was in building 741 right across from it the building i was in caught on fire. but the fire started at 753 i think rooms 300s. third floor but yeah the roof on the building i was on was on fire

  • I swear it sounded like every emergency reponse vehicle in Newport News responded to this fire. Jefferson Ave. was paraded with emergency response vehicles.

  • I was on my way to work coming over the I-64 overpass & all I could see were huge flames shooting up over the trees. I watched the fire for some time from the front desk of the hotel where I work. My thoughts & prayers go out to everyone affected.
