for those of you who are complaining that its not possible to get 1:39, 1:45, 1:38 times on autopolis GP... it all comes down to how you setup the car, and what control devices you use ( keyboard, koystick, gamepad, wheel e.t.c). alot of people who run in this competition dont run with default settings on these cars..

a 1:38 time is deffinatly possible. i've done well under a 1:38 time. proof is on my profile.

I've run it multiple times with a Works converted 111-R with and without assists and haven't even been close to 1:38 and I am no slouch when it comes to the game.

@balckmagic I realized after reviewing that vid after my post that the driver is on metric display, but I still suspect a modded game.

There's more grip in lower skill levels. If you're using experience or pro you've lost before you've started.

Secondly (this should be obvious from watching the others) the game doesn't reward careful smooth driving.

Think "arcade game" Think "doing what it takes to be fast in the game" Not "telling myself that you can't corner or drive in a certain way in real life"

Then you'll get a faster time, but you might lose interest in the game if you thought it was more realistic than it is...

Yeah, I openly admit to not being the best driver =P I do this at work, so I really only have one or two shots at this since they don't pay me to spend my time playing the game so that I get a clean lap. I give it a couple of practice laps and then just go at it.

I get made fun of week after week for my weak driving, but that's fine with me :) It's all part of the territory =P
