Worf's line, and also his smashing of LaForge's lute, are the only redeeming features of this otherwise ghastly episode--and that's an impressive feat considering that, ninety percent or more of the time, Worf is an utter moron.
One of my fave lines of the entire TNG series. The writers really had fun with this ep. From Worf's protest and then breaking Geordi's lute -- in an homage to "Animal House"? -- to Picard's dialogue with Sir Guy during the sword fight "I'm NOT from Nottingham"...it was all simply brilliant.
LOL at Geordi in the background! Yeah, the black guy wearing a futuristic visor over his eyes is gonna fit in just fine in the 12th century! Of course the Klingon dressed like a Medievial pimp is a dead giveaway too. :D
I would be the happiest thing on final frontier if Q were here to play with me some of his bizarre games :) But Worf not being on of the Merry men? ..this is too cruel even in Q's measure!
@TheWaterPower This line was way funnier the first time you hear it. The actor killed with the tone he took. But thinking on it, it doesn't make much sense. Robin hood was far back enough that a lot of humans should have trouble with the reference, but Worf being a Klingon should know very little about earth tales. There would be huge numbers of stories throughout history. Worf's planet should have it's own history and fables.
@TheWaterPower (Worf being a Klingon should know very little about earth tales. Worf's planet should have it's own history and fables.) ......It would've made better sense if Picard went over the character of who they were 1st and used the words Merry men. BUT for comic timing this way was funnier. People are too busy laughing to care if it makes sense. And killing the lute was hillarious!!! Don't get into character when Worf's been forced Jordi. Don't ask him to make the best of a situation:)
Worf is by far my favorite character- He embodies the strong silent type that we all want to be. Inside however, he really is a sweetheart. Plus, his have been some of the funniest lines in Star Trek History:
This one is my second favorite. My first has always been:
"If you were any other man, I would kill you where you stand!"
@NicholasGeschke actually the actor who plays worf is known to be cheery in behavior. i heard and saw brebt spiner[data] and he seemed a little ''attiude-ish''
@NicholasGeschke i agree, but it's a three-way tie for me between him, data, and picard.... they all rock... picard is also the strong-quiet type, but he has to talk more to give commands and stuff... that's the diff... i also think that picard and worf are a lot different... worf seems to hold back, and capable of much more while picard always seems to over-achieve!!! jese i have a problem... can't stop talking about star trek tng!! ahhh
lol one of my favourite scenes from all the star treks! it just cracks me up! worf is one of the funniest characters ever, hes one of my favourites! x
Did he really? I seem to remember this episode going something to the extent of: Worf asking what his clothes were all about, someone saying he was a "merryman" and then him retorting "I am NOT a merry man!" Hopefully I'm wrong, but even if so, this edit is PERFECT hahahahaha.
I think if Worf was seen dressed in pink skin-tight leotards by other Klingons they'd kill him for the fun of it, (dishonourably of course), poking him like a marshmallow on a stick, while laughing hysterically! LMAO!!!
