thank you so much for this video! i have crohns too and this year i have spent three diff weeks in the hopsital. i recently found out im a canidate for remicade and so excited hopefully it works! i feel your pain girl its not easy!
@WARDE2000 I agree that "ripping out" a body part is not ideal but at least its an option that stops UC permanently. I have crohns and got a permanent colostomy just for one little section that was utterly useless and macerated. If I had UC I would never deal with the issues of bleeding, pain etc again. I would prefer UC over crohns anyday because CD has other accompanying ailments that are debilitating,affects your ENTIRE GI tract, lifetime of surgeries and will be back over and over forever.
Its the only way to stop the constant flare ups. I have UC been in hospital for the last 3 weeks with the mother of all flare up. Staring surgery in the face. Trying to keep the chin up. Lifes a bitch sometimes.
oh wow... i had one Remicade infusion....and I'm almost glad my colon went crazy and they had to remove it... I wouldn't of liked to be on remicade for the rest of my life

Ahhh
I hate remicade! My veins just recently started not cooperating due to overuse...
But remicade has probably saved my life.

I'm 12 years old and I'm going to start remicade tomorrow... I also have very weak veins... I also have crohn's

why dont you just get a colostomy? Be glad it's UC and not crohn's....:( For UC a colostomy is a total and complete cure.

@3whisperedwords
Colostomy is not a cure for UC. Ripping out a part of the body is not a cure.

@WARDE2000 Keep your chin up....I know it sucks sometimes:(
But I swear to you it won't be the end of the world if you end up with a colostomy.
I am sorry you have to go through it. But that's one way pf kicking UC's ass...no pun intended. :)

@WARDE2000 worked for me. and please dont use the word "ripping", it undermines the skill and talent of the surgeons who perform these operations
