Thanks, great explanation. I'm looking to record for a more dub vibe, yet this answered my question, dub beats are basically reggae, just w/ lots of reverb and delay in the mix.

we could argue about the bass+click falling on either the 1 and 3 counts or on a very slow 2 and 4, but the important thing is, YOU GOT THE FEEL! Thanks man, reggae drums are about feeling, not technical stuff you see in so many other reggae drumming instruction vids.
