well, I can see thematic connection between Lubitsch's Trouble in Paradise and Hitchcock's To Catch A Thief (or maybe even Marnie)........... but Rear Window?
It's not really supposed to make any sense. The only thing to get is that I noticed these three shots from three different movies. I believe that Hitchcock might have been quoting Lubitsch in having Cary Grant pose on the beach at Monte Carlo in the same way that Gary Cooper posed in Bluebeard's Eighth wife. And it's also interesting to compare that pose to Grace Kelly's pose in Rear Window, Hitchcock's previous film. It seems to me a rather feminine pose, which emphasizes Grant's sensuality
Grace Kelly in Rear Window was Sexy!
Cary Grant in To Catch A Thief was Hot!!
Gary Cooper in Bluebeard's Eighth wife...makes me jumped out of my seat!! haha

I'm not trying to make any thematic comparisons. My interest here is purely formal. Thanks for your comment, though. :)
