  • love the cat, but good hell, dude - you ramble (and not even in an interesting way)

you might want to outline some talking points next time, as this was a complete waste of time

and i'm even being nice about it

  • so how does it wotrk? how do u top up? thanks.......

  • @crazydiva1973

Not sure what you mean by "top up" sorry :/

  • do u have a sim ccard in it? thanks

  • @crazydiva1973

No, This is a CDMA device and dosent sim cards.

Sprint/Verizon=cdma=no sim cards(unless they are world roaming capable)

ATT/Tmobile=gsm=use sim cards (already world capable)

Im currently using a Bold 9780 on Tmobile.

  • AWWW, little Pixiecat! I almost called her Jinxiecat. that's a nice tuxedo she has. My evil tortoiseshell has one too.

  • @LiloPelakai

Wait just a minute, I think I might know you or something [hmm]

  • @JasnoGT You think? Would hurling a big egg at your drunk, caramel-colored head help?

  • @LiloPelakai

I've already heard from the child support people. This is harassment! I tried to tell them that all things will be taken care of Dec 21 next year. They dont listen to me. Tell them to back the fck off

  • I'm watching a lot of reviews on the BBC 8530 and right now I have the Optimus M from Metro-PCS and wanted to get the BBC 8530. I'm thinking on it. Not sure if I'm going to. But prob will. I don't use web browsing all that much and I'm really big on texting so I think it will be a good investment for me. The touch screen misses letters sometimes and makes new words if it misses letters and I don't think its as quick as a traditional keyboard is.

  • @Melanie73Paul

8530 is good but you might as well get a newer curve or bold. My Tmo Bold 9780 is the best BB ive ever had...awesome device

  • @JasnoGT I just got the 8530. I like it. I would have gone newer but I'm with Metro-PCS so thats all they had. I'll be waiting for Metro to get another BB in before I upgrade again. They should in time.

  • @Melanie73Paul

8530 to this day is still a great reliable workhorse. Ive heard its more reliable than the newer 9300 series curves.:)

  • I currently have an HTC Hero and I just ordered a Blackberry Curve 8530... HTC Hero was probably the worst phone experience I've ever had. It was good for the first couple of months and then it really started to go downhill. I'm very excited to get my Blackberry, as I've wanted one for a really long time. What would you recommend I do with my HTC Hero? Get rid of it, sell it?

  • @hospitalflowerss

For speedyness and heavier texting youre gonna love your BB! Hero was not a bad phone for its time and mine was in mint cond. when I sold it for $80 last month. Remember the value of phones decrease over time but try craigslist or ebay to sell. Some ppl just want it. Gazelle.com can give you little if you want to try that. I lurve my Droid Incredible but just got my BOLD 9650 for $135 mint! the other day. Love it. Want to do a vid of it..its good to be back with BB.

  • @hospitalflowerss

Hell, you could also just keep the Hero and use it on Wifi like a mini tablet. and for games. :P

  • @JasnoGT Oh, very true. :P And I've heard that about BB's, that it's great for texting and speediness. Which in this case is a very good thing. With my HTC I have a huge problem with the touch keyboard, it freezes on me all the time and it wont let me type, and now with most mobile sites such as Facebook and twitter, they no longer work correctly.. I am definitely looking forward to the BB.

  • Texts, IM's & Bootycalls. 0_o lol.

  • What is the difference between standby and just locking the phone regularly?

  • @dreamawake719

Locking the keyboard just locks the keyboard. Standby from what I understand puts it in a "deep sleep" but doesnt turn it off completely. Kinda the way you do with your pc.

Back when I originally had this phone a year ago. You had to push the key with the lock symbol to lock the keyboard and push and hold the mute button at top to put it into standby.......But now after all the software updates when you push the keyboard lock button it puts it into standby

  • I have a HTC Hero right now and am highly considering selling it and buying an 8530 instead. Since you experienced both phones, can you tell me which one liked more? For me Hero is super laggy (not as easy messaging/email) and has a bad battery life. What do you think? Thanks!

  • @infernosoft000

The laggyness of the Hero was a factor. I've always loved switching back to the bberry because of the speed and simple interface. You'll miss the bigger screen and media features of the Hero but if you need a powerful reliant messaging phone go for any blackberry.

Im now with Verizon using the Droid Incredible so their is no lag,,,,awesome device but have considered buying me a bold or tour as a great back up phone.

  • @JasnoGT Thanks for advice, I'm looking to buying a blackberry now (probably 8530 because it's cheaper than the Bold), but I have one more question! How would you say the battery life of the BB compares to the Hero? Thanks again.

  • @infernosoft000 Well it kinda depends on how you use it. Without Advanced Task Killer the Hero's battery life is poorer than the BB. But with it its about the same as the BB. Remember heavy web browsing kills both of these phones. But if youre more into messaging the BB will be a better experience. As far as battery life Id give BB the edge especially when using the standby button. Also emails are almost instantaneous. Takes a few more minutes on Android. The 8530 is still a great, sleek phone

  • do you have any idea where the mute key is located on this phone

  • @Lolalove3301 rofl I need the same thing xD locked my phone now idk how the hell to unlock it

  • hey, thanks for demonstrating your phone. mines on the way from verizon as i write . got it because i needed a new phone and it was free w/2yr. anyway, i got worried after looking at some of the reviews about it on verizon even though a lot of them were good, but your video made me feel a lot better, plus funny too. im just mainly using mine for calls, and texting when i need too. 50 yr old mom here. im not the assassins, lol (signed in on my son's you tube). hi son! lol.

  • @001assassins

The phone is great. The only reason I switched was to try android...but its hard to give up a traditional style BBerry. They are messaging kings. Im actually considering going back to BBerry, not for the Torch but for the Bold 9780 frm Tmobile. Sick phone. Thanks 4 the feedback!

  • good review thanks

  • @chaperel1985 No problem

    Gratzi!

  • how do I unlock it??

  • @cookieslt

Press and hold the mute button at top, I believe...its been awhile since I've had this phone.

  • how do you lock the phone?

  • @monster24kb

    To lock the keyboard:

I believe its the far left "a" key. There should be a symbol of a lock on it. Press and hold.

I dont have this phone anymore but I remember after getting newer updates the key also put the phone in standby (not just lock)

  • Virgin mobile has that phone for prepaid… just sayin

  • @SuperDanny71

Yea, they do NOW......but not when I made this vid.

  • TEXT IM AND BOOTYCALL! LMAO IM WEAK

  • Dood trust me do not get htc hero way to laggy the evo just came out for sprint the fixed most of the android gliches way better and nice video

  • @Izopedia

I know. I've had the Hero for 3 weeks and really like it but I noticed what you are talking about...the Hero is a great phone and great for fun and games...But I just today switched back to my trusty non-laggy BLACKBERRY! LOL There's Nothing like having a real keyboard!!

  • Excuse me but 8520 HAS Wi-Fi and No GPS but sorta acts like one with the maps app etc.!

  • @Tinsel9

I guess I was looking at the wrong vids or was misinformed.

I just checked again. It appears you are correct. 8520 does have wifi.....but still lacks GPS.
