Justcause2 on xbox looks fantastic. The draw distance is great! I couldn't believe how nice it looked. I own both PS3 and xbox 360. Still favor the xbox. This tech demo is cool, makes me want to see the T Rex tech demo for ps 1.

@geetarwanabe Most of what you said (geometry density, draw distance, LOD) are actually dependent on the GPU alone and has nothing to do with the processor.
@NewLynxS you're a dumbass. The CPU is probably more important than the GPU. Plug a top of the line GPU and a low end CPU into a computer and see the FPS or more like slide show, the same could be said for the other way too however. I would argue that the FPS would be BETTER with a high end CPU and low end GPU than the case above. The CPU increases the bandwidth and so loading on the GPU. Physics/lighting/etc. are handled by both.
@geetarwanabe Again, the CPU doesn't handle geometry or lighting effects. When games are demanding on the CPU, it's due to tasks like physics engines or loading large files (high-resolution textures, loading complex geometry). But CPUs make NO DIFFERENCE AT ALL on visual quality or resolution, because it doesn't handle those tasks.
Also, the CPU doesn't "increase bandwidth". It has it's own individual bus (FSB, QPI, HyperTransport or similar), and so does the GPU (PCI Express or similar).

omg...realtime cuastics. The rendering is getting closer to metal ray and other renderers. But its all realtime which is amazing. this means alot for the 3d modeling. I can just see being able to use your ps3 as a render server and using plugins in junction with maya,xsi,3dsmax,cinema4d,blender, you name it.

simply put=not enough exclusives. Other systems dont have enough capability for it, least by performance, and most all Ps3 games are multiplatform, save for launch titles.
