The English one says that the film respects the struggle of the dancing girls. The Hindi version says it respects all the people associated with the dancing bars.

Subtle change, but a big difference! I wonder why there is a difference. Are they trying to cover their ass?

Hello very nice and true movie but its so easy for us to watch the movie and make comments we as the next generation should do something write letter to the PM of India to make laws against family members or anybody that sells women,children. tabu is a great actress.Her father name is Jamil hussain hashmi-who acted in some pakistani movies in 2nd lead roles.He left her mother and came to pakistan.Tabbu hates her father coz of this act.

Yes she is, but I do believe that many of the glamorous actresses don't do these substantial roles because they are only offered the dance and sing films where they earn tons more money. Madhuri did Mrityudand and Prem Granth. She was great in both films but unfortunately the Indian public don't like to see beautiful actresses in these roles. Tabu is like Shabana Azmi. Very talented but unable to get mainstream commercial glamrorous roles; which is why she works in these films
