  • isnt coasting dangerous!!??

  • you can only calculate MPG when the engine is running continuously over a distance of 1 mile. I drive my turbo diesel in a similar way but it gives 55MPG in the town and that is a true reading. 99MPG on your display should say 0, but people said "it's terrible" so they thought 99 was better. It's all in the mind! A 1600cc ford focus diesel gives 55mpg in town and 72mpg on the motorway, so why o you think people don't buy a prius in the UK? not worth it!!!

    stick to diesel.

  • I'm SO gonna get one for my next car - Doesn't matter if it's used or new. I like the 04-to current Prius styles.

  • One note in the video, (great video btw) I wouldn't floor it to jack rabbit. I think it was John1701a's site that said it's peak efficiency combustion wise was closer to 70% throttle. So I would try to push it 7/10ths of the way down! GREAT video though, that is exactly how I normally do it.

  • Thanks, Brad! I'll admit it ... I can't resist flooring it, every once in a while ... :)

  • @mpgomatic You could break a ganganchav. Please don't do it.

  • Dude that is amazing! My next car is going to be a prius!

  • Very helpful video. Thanks!

  • hi, is this a plugin?

  • Alakersph1 - not a plug-in ... just a standard issue Prius

  • Wow!! What a great crisp video showing the energy flow! Exactly what I was looking for... Whenever I see those blue regen arrows or the yellow electric only arrows I grin from ear to ear.
