Thanks so much for this, so instructive on so many levels. It's such a gift to see the 'man behind the curtain' like this and really see the attention to detail that makes your creative efforts so great. I am sure that the way of working with someone like MK will open a lot of eyes to what goes into all this...thank you so much
@Leksingen Yep, MK definitely uses mics. Indeed, when he was recording his latest album 'Get Lucky', for a couple of songs he used no less than seven mics to record one guitar, four ambient and thre close, with absolutely everything turned right up as far as possible. Take a look at his keyboard player/co-producer's website - guyfletcher.co.uk where you'll find recording diaries which give you a good idea of how MK and his band go about recording.
@mikechildmk1 Well, I knew he uses mics but I mean if he ever has lined in a guitar, are there possibillities to get a proper sound that way awell? I know you won't get the roomreverb and so on, perhaps not the character of the ams aswell.. Holy, that was alot for one guitar, might explain one or two things.. Thanks
I LOVE you Thomas. Your music inspired me throughout my life but especially in college & post-college @ Xavier University. I would love to see you live & maybe meet you some day. Will you tour the states again?
Excellent! I appreciate the amount of work it takes to produce these video dissections. Great to see behind the scenes and hear some of the good stuff that didn't make the final mix.

Nice to see how it comes together. Great tutorial.
Passing along the knowledge, and now we are the kids in the back of the studio.

Thanks for the look at your process. The way you built that flowing piece out of chunks made me smile.
