Too many film you've watched. Barbarians (as you say) were good warriors using warcraft of Romans. In fact, in the Roman Impire the legion often have a barbarians in the army. Read some good historic books.
that's true but when the barbarians was going to be into the roman lines , it was in IV century and V. it called laterroman age, beside, roman in the V century doesn't have a good army too, so then when bubonic plage invade the "limes" legions, the emperor of the time should call them settlers to became to their armies. but finally it is a good history and very sadlly one.
